http://www.odioworks.com/download/TICPP-2nd-ed-Vol-one.zip This is a full legally free C++ book, 800+ pages (main page http://mindview.net/Books/TICPP/ThinkingInCPP2e.html )
exactly much????
Are you stupid? A book maybe 200-400 pages, the internet; 10000000000000000000000000000000+ pages. He was telling you that and yet you are saying no and yes at the same time
i hope you aren't trolling... my whole point is the difference between ONLINE TUTORIALS and BOOKS.
exactly much????
syntax error please re-state
i hope you aren't trolling... my whole point is the difference between ONLINE TUTORIALS and BOOKS.
You're right, intra-webs can change to be more accurate, are easier to read, and make ur brayn biggur and stffu [editline]10:53PM[/editline] have fun trying to sleep ^_^
God damn, and you guys think I'm bad when I argue? Look at yourselves... The reason books are better at *teaching* C++ is easy... C++ books actually go in-depth about C++ as a whole, even when teaching different parts of the language. They also spend many, many, many pages on the same subject to fully cover it. Tutorials rarely do this. End of. The internet is a larger reference, but not always a better one. You can find a lot of wrong information on the internet, but books from good authors have several erratas and are a lot more accurate.
:wtf: :wtf:  lolwhut??

Once you actually know HOW to write a program, then you can use the internet. Trying to learn from cplusplus.com is a terrible idea.
get out please. internet tutorials can't explain things in depth like a book can. cheap fuck.
No you get out, stop raging because someone disagrees with you.
You you get out, stop raging because someone disagrees with you.
He was blatantly ignoring what i said, just interpreting it how he wanted to.. I said multiple times a book is better than a internet tutorial yet he insisted that the internet tutorials are better. (You can also download BOOKS from the internet, so i don't know why he thinks i'm saying books > internet..).
He's just an idiot that won't even reach the newbie level in programming. Just let him be.
use
system("pause");
I mean that's why I use. Some kind of cin command works just aswell I guess. [editline]10:27AM[/editline] Also, what you do is go to a college that teaches C++ programming.

What the fuck is the problem with someone learning from the internet and not from a book, it's not you, why are you worried. It's something basic he can watch until he gets out and buys a book. Also, Swebonny, shut the fuck up you self-righteous cunt. Now, lets take a close look at your post.
use
system("pause");

That's the worst advice you can give somebody. system("pause"); is Windows specific, which is shit. Use platform-independent code.
I learned everything I know from the internet and some friends, and most importantly, actually doing the programming.
Now, lets take a close look at your post. Hmm.
You don't seem to differentiate between internet and internet tutorials. :C
That's the worst advice you can give somebody. system("pause"); is Windows specific, which is shit. Use platform-independent code.
And it's inefficient :) But platform-specific code doesn't have to be shit. It's in most cases bad to think/know only platform-specific (stuff), but writing platform-specific code with the draw-backs in mind is ok IMO.

[editline]01:49PM[/editline] Oh by the way, I think you are the one that needs to shut the fuck up. Go have your book vs internet discussions in GD instead.
Books > Internet Tutorials. /thread

Also, the self-righteous cunt was for the comment on me not being able to code and I was guessing you could.
If you even read what I said I'm agreeing that books can be a good resource. Also, the self-righteous cunt was for the comment on me not being able to code and I was guessing you could.
i'm glad you think internet tutorials are better than books, i'm sure you're great at coding. Since you care so much about ratings, care to tell me why you rated me disagree seconds before you posted saying go find where i said that?
i'm glad you think internet tutorials are better than books, i'm sure you're great at coding.
Go find where I said that and get back to me asap. kthx. [editline]06:23PM[/editline] Didn't think so keep pushing your little ratings.
If you even read what I said I'm agreeing that books can be a good resource. Also, the self-righteous cunt was for the comment on me not being able to code and I was guessing you could.
What the heck, I didn't even quote you. It was to the OP.
Another programming thread turned shit-storm.
What the heck, I didn't even quote you. It was to the OP.
I see different. http://screencast.com/t/cfinTv39sR

The internet is a larger, but not always complete or accurate, reference. Internet tutorials cover the basics of several aspects of each language, but don't explain what's behind the curtain, if you will. Books in the real world often explain much more about every aspect of each language, and they also explain how it works, what happens with the computer when you compile X instruction. I believe this should stop this flamewar.
ITT: PieClock thinks he knows C++ after reading cplusplus.com
Guys ignore everything BrokenGlass says. He has been trolling a lot of threads lately.
