Because it totally makes business sense to put in effort to provide for the minority :downs:
Yeah ok rate me dumb because I'm telling a truth.
i don't see anything about it being from google
Rob Pike, and Ken Thompson (of Unix fame), work for Google.

Except Google isn't ignoring Windows, it just hasn't gotten to it yet.
Here is a 1 hour tech talk if anyone cares: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKnDgT73v8s
I tried this out. Compiled it and tried out the Hello World application shown in the tutorial.
In other words.. 581kB for a Hello World application? Seriously.
Please explain how that is actually a problem.
Please explain how that is actually a problem.
Becaus apparently he's expecting it to be assembly/C++ size without being assembly/C++.
care to explain why it warrants use over any other language that's out right now?
oh its google it must be good right
Why -not- use it?
I'm gonna try it out.
"Oh it's google it must be good right"... well, yeah, why not? They generally come up with cool ideas, between everyone in the company. They had the resources to purpose-build their own language for programming, so they did. Well, one or two people I expect. As a hobbyist project backed vaguely by Google. Looking at the website for it at least.
As they say themselves:

tl;dr Google introduces pretty much a C++/Python hybrid language
I'm certainly trying this out
Undefined return types?
No semi colons, no random access, no thanks.
Oh no it doesn't have semicolons! Seriously are you joking?
Becaus apparently he's expecting it to be assembly/C++ size without being assembly/C++.
Actually a C++ Hello World that uses the SC++L will be of similar size.
If microsoft created this, people would go berserk and say microsoft sucks.
It's true. :smug:
Google sucks.
Actually a C++ Hello World that uses the SC++L will be of similar size.
really now? what do you consider a C++ hello world?
Actually a C++ Hello World that uses the SC++L will be of similar size.
Its 100kb if you statically link the runtime libraries
But I don't want to give the impression that I give a shit that its 500kb for a Go hello world.
"500KB for a simple program? Don't download it's probably a virus."
It probably didn't have strip run on the damn thing.
needs more semi colon
Oh no it doesn't have semicolons! Seriously are you joking?
I am sorry that I don't like all my shit on 1 line. And I don't want something like vb's fail attempt of trying to support multiple lines.
What? You don't need semicolons, it's implicit. It doesn't mean everything has to be on one line. What are you talking about?

I see this as causing many problems...
