Go is actually used quite alot in new server based projects after it became a bit more useful.
I'm using it a fair amount now because I like the way its like C++ and Lua had a baby but Python was the real daddy.

[I]Go[/I] is quite popular nowadays for server software, Google, Heroku, and CloudFlare all use it internally for distributed systems with big success.
