I could try making this for Android if anyone is interested :3:
Just an idea. What about watching certain Topics. There's Forums and threds but no topics. :v: Edit: Why the fuck did I just say that? I'm retarded.
Like keywords?
Uhm. If you want. I totaly just had a fail moment so disregard that last post... :v:
[url]http://anyhub.net/file/4fp_ticker.jar[/url] Updated. Username actually works. :v: It shows a different balloon for username mentioned.
I'm planning on writing an API for vBulletin 4 that returns information in machine readable formats (Examples: Member information, posts with raw bbcode, etc). Just started it so we'll see where I'll get. On a more relevant note, I'll talk to garry about fixing the ticker so that it returns the bbcode for the post in the ticker. Right now its returning a small portion of HTML that isn't even used so that will be something to fix in the update.

[QUOTE=compwhizii;23032351]posts with raw bbcode[/QUOTE] [url=http://github.com/charliesome/bbsharp]You know what would be really cool? If your API parsed the BBCode into a nice DOM tree[/url] :v:
Is a Thread ID like "showthread.php?t=956527&page=3" Edit: Sorry typo
[QUOTE=Zeb Brown;23056403]Is a forum ID like "showthread.php?t=956527&page=3"[/QUOTE] what [editline]05:07PM[/editline] [QUOTE=turb_;23043546][url=http://github.com/charliesome/bbsharp]You know what would be really cool? [QUOTE=compwhizii;23063663]what[/QUOTE] He means, in the desktop application theres a section called Thread ID:. He is wondering what a Thread ID is.
[QUOTE=Zeb Brown;23056403]Is a forum ID like "showthread.php?t=956527&page=3"[/QUOTE] No: "showthread.php?t=[b]956527[/b]&page=3" Is a thread. [editline]10:27PM[/editline] This is a forum: [url]http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=[/url][b]240[/b]
[QUOTE=compwhizii;23063663]The API is server side as a vBulletin plugin...[/QUOTE] Awwww :saddowns:
Ok, my fade - bar - notice thing now allows all controls, so now you can add a picturebox or custom control that will automatically fade (eg post style render with avatar). It's also pretty much transparent, and I can't remember if I said so or not but adding new controls is thread safe, so I can run the notice on thread A and the ticker on thread B and have the ticker send messages as easy as SmoothNotice.AddNotice("Hi!");, and that's exactly how it works. I suppose I should finish the rules making form and then make it actually use it, but it's 5:11 am. I suppose I should have actually done something on this. Oh well.
[IMG]http://imgur.com/htPq9.jpg[/IMG] If it's invalid for the comma separated lists, the textbox in question will flash red until it's fixed, and will not save.
Flash? Isn't a simple red border enough? Hm... Maybe I should work some more on my old ticker...
[QUOTE=raBBish;23022034]I could try making this for Android if anyone is interested :3:[/QUOTE] Yes, please. I'm also posting this from an Android phone! :D
[QUOTE=raBBish;23022034]I could try making this for Android if anyone is interested :3:[/QUOTE] Definitely a good idea. Just one more thing Android would have over iOS :3
I'll be rewriting my Ticker in C# and I'm also working on one for iPhone. :v:
That would be great as browsing Facepunch with safari is a bit of a pain.

I also would love an Ipod Touch Facepunch App.
Hey guys, design question for my ticker interface: Should I add an option so that events automatically invoke to the thread that created the ticker? That way the end user will not have to worry about threading.
Never mind about that: I'm doing my own event implementation that works better if the handler's code throws exceptions. I can also set it up so it uses the thread pool: I think I'll use a bool for that. [editline]02:06AM[/editline] Heh, seems automerge has a limit.
How is your program coming along ShaRose
