Well it's quite true. More people seem to be making gamercard or Steam Community generators recently, infact this page hasn't seen any desktop programming at all.

Sure, I agree. The desktop programming stuff was quite awesome, but to tell the people that do web stuff to fuck off is a bit overkill.

Currently working on a new website, since my old one was pretty horrid. Wondering what's better to save page data in, MySQL or XML? Friend recommended me XML but I can't really see any big pro's on using it instead of MySQL.

I don't see why we shouldn't keep it all here. The programming forum has never been this active, it's nice to see what people are up to, and I don't paritcularly feel like going through tonnes of drawings to find out what creative stuff people made with php/whatever just because the end product is purely graphical.
The main issue i have with Desktop Programming is lack of stuff I actually want to make...
That and everyone repeatedly saying "VB isn't programming"... Tell that to the worlds largest and most respected Maritime company, their primary production tool is pure VB.Net.

There was abit, just no pictures.
Anyway today I am working on the random bridge namer. Should be easy as loading up a list of words and selecting random things from it, and choosing if to add "Of X".
Websites are fine, but this obsession with silly signature/image browser images and so on needs to stop. The only decent thing I've seen in this thread about GD was the fractal creations, because they were awesome.
A browser image info thing is boring as fuck, and basic to make, I'm afraid.
