I know most of the ones needed for making websites. Little bit of PHP, all about XHTML and CSS, little javascript, tiny amount of MySQL. And a bit of QBasic. For everything else, there's the designer dream program Construct. Where you skip the coding with event-based stuff and concentrate on the thing that matters: gameplay. [editline]08:26PM[/editline] Hey, disagree all you want. If I need to sketch out a game real quick to see how it plays and works I use Construct. But if and when any of them go commercial or anything, they're going to be coded and using a proper engine.
Just been trying it out. It's pretty awesome. I will certainly use it if ever I need to work out a mechanic before trying to implement it.
Why not just use C#.net? I can't see how programming in VB can be much faster than in C#
That's a very fair point, and it isn't any faster to program in VB. But I self-taught myself VB a few years back, and feel most comfortable when trying new things. At the end of the day, when prototyping, speed and comfort are two very important factor's.
So I thought, "why the hell not?" and: (no the header does not contain a blue border and overlay now)
I'm working on stuff from http://www.pythonchallenge.com/ . It's a series of programming challenges in the form of puzzles. You have to first figure out what the picture and hints want you to do, then use python to write a function or program to solve it. So far I'm stuck on the first one past the warm up. I know what I have to do, I just need to look up how to do it.
Moron? I'd love to see what you've made that is better than what he is doing.
movie critics dont make movies wise guy
movie critics dont make movies wise guy
Because they'd rather bitch about it because they can't do it themself.
Because they'd rather bitch about it because they can't do it themself.
hahaha are you seriously saying movie critics are dumb because they don't actually make movies you are a moron
Because they'd rather bitch about it because they can't do it themself.
following your logic, if i don't like a movie, i'm not allowed to have an opinion about it even though i'm the intended audience.
http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/2209/74714_jaygame2.php Not sure when/if I posted this last, anyways. It's pretty buggy, but what I want you to look at is the bottom right where the burger shack is, you can work there (as long as your needs permit) and the time will change of course, if it's past 6 night will come, that's the gist of what I've got done so far.
Had to make a Java app to calculate the trajectory of a cannon ball. Instead I ended up creating a full physics integrator and added magnets and shit so now instead of trajectory arcs I get nice orbits:
I'm at a Google web toolkit talk at Google sf. It's very interesting so far. Also first post from my new HTC hero.
I'm at a Google web toolkit talk at Google sf. It's very interesting so far. Also first post from my new HTC hero.
That's not an application or website you're working on is it :smug:
Wow I haven't posted here in a long time. I have been slacking off and doing school work but hopefully I will code more in my spare time. Well I worked on the cow AI so they act more like cows so now they eat. I also added sound so if you click with you mouse you will hear a clicking noise. I also added a option to turn off sound. Finally I added a button to add land or water. :D I have another project(secret) that I am working on that is stealing my time from this project so there wont be big update on this for a while. Link to play: http://www.playisoworld.com/play.php
My dudes are drowning in land. :ohdear:
My dudes are drowning in land. :ohdear:
Yeah, Bug that I just noticed. I changed how they die in water and it really buggy now. I will try to fix it tomorrow. D:
Trying to learn Java, but it won't update..I've got an applet working, but it won't update in the browser, even though I recompile. I even deleted the file it uses and it still displays...Why?
Try to clear your cache (Ctrl+F5 in IE/FF, "doubleclick" F5 in Chrome, I believe).
Nope. Seems to fix it if I close the page and reopen.
Nope.
Then maybe the file you deleted isn't the file that is actually used.
Currently, I'm Just working around with XNA, Developing a Basic Flight simulator with an X-Wing model (Found it, Why not :-) ). Once I get my Buildings done I'll post a Pic. Anyway, Heres a Current Development One. Once I'm done I'm going to steal some of the graphical code from the Racing Game Starter Kit (Hey, It's what It's for, For Educational Purposes). Tagged for size. [editline]07:34PM[/editline] Argh, this is agonizingly slow. I hit my bandwidth limit. But the buildings are done. Just need to upload the pic. [editline]07:44PM[/editline] Done. Gonna load in the model now. Maybe make a simple motion system. [editline]08:39PM[/editline] Simulator. Now with X-Wing Model and Shadows Oh, and thanks for the Artistic :-) I've Also Directed the Camera to the X-Wing [editline]08:41PM[/editline] Time for working on my Control system, Then I might upload a copy for people to play with.
movie critics dont make movies wise guy
Still, calling someone a moron isn't the right thing for some small, overlooked thing as not displaying the Stream-rating if it is 0.
Does anyone know a good place to start with programming flash? And which programs do i need?
Flash isn't a programming language? It does contain ActionScript though. And you need uh, Flash.
Does anyone know a good place to start with programming flash? And which programs do i need?
did you really just ask that? you don't program flash, it has an integrated scripting language called actionscript which is pretty much the same as javascript the program you need would be flash, who would have guessed
I suggest you download the trial of flash cs4 professional or cs3 and then look up into actionscript 3 ?
Does anyone know a good place to start with programming flash? Get the trial then.... get the full version, magically :P Topic: working on Add Brew functionality, it works, I just need to decide how little you have to fill out. Then onto approving/editing them. (User was banned for this post ("hinting at warez" - GunFox))
Because they'd rather bitch about it because they can't do it themself.
Steven Spielberg can't act, but that doesn't stop him from telling actors what to do.
