Damn, I thought the UE3 post was a rickroll when I first started reading, then I was really taken by surprise when I found out that it's real. Smart move from Epic I guess; I like how they let you have the first 5000$ with no royalties, my respect for them just got a hefty boost. Now, the possibilities.. I think I'll be going for something like Stranded II on crack.. :flashfap: Grrr.. must.. finish.. current.. project.. first... :argh:
If you do go for something like Stranded II, for the sake of all of us, please make multiplayer work out of the box.
Hey that looks cool. How are you doing the enemy movement? They seem to keep themselves spaced apart.
When 2 enemies get too close they repel by subtracting their position vectors.
I love the new Hoffpunch.
When 2 enemies get too close they repel by subtracting their position vectors.
Cool. Simple. Makes it look like they have AI.
So this UDK is just the unreal editor? I know you can make pretty much anything with it but it's still a little misleading.
So this UDK is just the unreal editor? I know you can make pretty much anything with it but it's still a little misleading.
It's unreal engine 3 which is used via unreal script. There is nothing misleading about it. Games which use the unreal engine use unreal script.
So this UDK is just the unreal editor? I know you can make pretty much anything with it but it's still a little misleading.
It's a release of the UE3 runtimes. It's like any other UE3 licensed except you don't get the source, I think.
It's a release of the UE3 runtimes. It's like any other UE3 licensed except you don't get the source, I think.
And even if you had a full license you would be working 99% in unreal script. You don't use C++ to make games with the unreal engine as far as I am aware.
Just look at the example game, it's made with the UDK and I can't think of a total conversion that's less like the original (UT3 in this case).
Got my new computer, it is very, very nice :D Took me a while to realise that it had an adaptor for the screen. The keyboard driver came on a floppy?!?!
Got my new computer, it is very, very nice :D Took me a while to realise that it had an adaptor for the screen. The keyboard driver came on a floppy?!?!
Are you sure about this?
Are you sure about this?
Yes, I am pretty sure its new considering I got it 3 hours ago.
Your keyboard needs a driver?
Your computer needs a keyboard?
You need a computer? Anyway, that driver disk is probably for systems so old they actually do need a keyboard driver.
Your keyboard needs a driver?
Some need drivers for multimedia keys and displays on the keyboard.
I'm back from the ban-lands! I'm kinda new so I've never known that I can't post in ban-me threads. And then I come back to Hasselhoff everywhere. Did I miss anything important?

I heard mm3guy made a script to replace people's avatars. that's programming
FYI, people talking about steam royalty rates. Mine is 50/50 - I hear others using their own engine is 60/40 in their favour.
sounds boring.
duh you only made a mod you know
So, is it hard to make a HL2 mod?
FYI, people talking about steam royalty rates. Mine is 50/50 - I hear others using their own engine is 60/40 in their favour.
60/40 sounds quite high, are you sure?
FYI, people talking about steam royalty rates. Mine is 50/50 - I hear others using their own engine is 60/40 in their favour.
Jesus, 40% for digital distribution?
Jesus, 40% for digital distribution?
File hosting costs a lot, you know.
So, is it hard to make a HL2 mod?
Depends on what kind of Half Life 2 mod you're going to make and how much experience you have with making mods. Making a mod like Garry's Mod would take a long time if you haven't had that much experience, since you'd need to make a good physics engine and other features.

Oh well I tried :downs:
