Grow up, you little twat.
This was more funny than it should have been, because I actually imagined StinkyJoe saying this
Basically my school has this online system where each department has space on the webserver for their own department website so they can put resources there, lesson plans in case you were off etc, and even though they use drag and drop, my Science teacher spent like 30 mins of the lesson asking me about design theory and stuff like that, I even showed him paper browser. My teacher must be a web designer in secret... either that or the other department stuff is that shit it's being showed up majorly.. I'll get some pictures when my school site is back online.
It's worth doing split tests with stuff like this.
That's the plan :)
Mine did too but it usually turned out to be like: <h1>Homework for today:<br>math worksheet</h1> It was hideous.
No idea what this is like, I'm presuming it's a simple drag/drop interface, I'm not sure.
so you're still making shitty designs i see kmartsqrl (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Hexxeh))
Its really funny because you couldn't even complete a full design without whining about your 'designers block' stopping you and you needing a break from design. In relation the the design Kmartsqrl, looks nice in my opinion I think the buttons in the top 3 content boxes look a little strange though.
My final version: [t]http://puu.sh/86W1[/t] EDIT: wow that's my task bar. http://toaster468.com/temp/
It's nice, but I think it should have some color
I think i prefer yellow, it's like the traffic light system in here. Get ready to go!
Should I remove it? I'm not bothered by it.
You should make it a lighter color of your menu background. and height should be same as the height of the menu and add some padding to left and right. Yes, it bothers me
Look what I just found. (Why did nobody tell me this?)
I think i prefer yellow, it's like the traffic light system in here. There was a lot more red included in the initial comp too (the logo text was red, nav highlight was red) so that was a large part of the reasoning behind those buttons being red.
Look what I just found. (Why did nobody tell me this?)
no one probably knew about it. Sweet.
Didn't ifaux stop designing and leave Facepunch because he was being a whiny little bitch and said that he was bad at designing? Now he comes in waving his virtual cock around, claiming he's the best designer.
no one probably knew about it. Sweet.
Its under Window -> Extensions -> Kuler. I'm using CS5 btw.
That's the plan :)
Good-o, though that'll mean further integrating Goals into your contact forms.
I actually like that, been rushed this whole project and using yellow there never crossed my mind for some reason. Man, I've been spending so much time at work I've had fuck all time to work on my own stuff. Starting to miss it :(

Then it all becomes clear again.
Man, I've been spending so much time at work I've had fuck all time to work on my own stuff. Starting to miss it :(
I know what you mean, I am always too tired to begin designing after I have spent a full day at work dealing with computers.
It's nice, but I think it should have some color
Any ideas? I'm pretty bad at matching colors (partially color blind) I was thinking of a light red, but I wasnt sure where to put it. EDIT: Shit I just noticed one side is thicker than the other, and if you look closely the underline goes across the page.
so you're still making shitty designs i see kmartsqrl (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Hexxeh))
Ugh, what a pleasant individual.
Hey guys. So, I touched up the slidey menu thing I posted earlier. Made it faster and made it queue up the last thing you roll-over during an animation (so it doesn't "stick"). I still have to make it close whatever menu is open when you leave the navbar div, but that should be fairly simple. Overall, it's just more stable. I also decided to do a sort of "announcement" thing, mostly as an exercise in XML->HTML. When that didn't pose much of a challenge at all, I got bored and decided to make a simple program in Visual Basic that writes the necessary XML code for quickly adding new announcements, since the eventual goal is to use these elements I'm making in a website for my friend's band (his asking if I could make him one was what prompted this sudden motivation to learn Javascript / jQuery :v:). I knew my spending a weekend to learn VB would come in handy one day! (Literally, this is the first program I've made with it since I learned it, beyond a distance calculator that used the distance formula for two points in 3D space.) Here's a screenshot I took, though. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8416055/Overachieving.png[/t] I'm having fun doing this. :v: I still need to either fix the flyout or find an alternative for Internet Explorer users, though. I don't know how it works on Safari or Opera, either.
-racist nerd talk-
Hello, I'd like to file a complaint about an article that was posted on your website. I found the article "AyfksafgUNfa7fKa" very biased and offensive. Your comparison of the struggles of the Libyan rebels to that of holocaust victims was extremely insensitive. I also didn't take kindly to your implication that all muslims are engrossed in extremism, violent or not. Apart from that: Awesome work, it's a lot more than I did when I first started doing Javascript :v: You ought to make that little application append the announcement to the file on a remote server, basically make it an app to post articles without using a web interface.

Recently I've been improving my skills just through little play exercises and pages for mainly HTML and CSS, with a bit of Javascript and some simple PHP on some of those "tests" Now I'm currently creating the 2nd version of my 1st site, it's, as you will see, obviously in VERY early development stages but even still, I feel that you can gain the concept of what I'm aiming for: www.maxhazell.x10.mx Remember, I am still relatively new to web design/development, and also not a very active poster in this section, but constructive crticism is what I'm looking for please if possible :) (Also for some reason in IE8 or 9, don't remember which - maybe even both - the striped background doesn't work, if there is a quick fix could you post it back with comments please, if not I'll as in the WDYNHW thread)

In regards to the horrible stripes.

[editline].[/editline] Stripes are overused, usually gaudy (especially if the contrast between the two colours is too great, which they often are), and tend to lead eyes away from content. It just evokes memories of early "web 2.0" designs for me, before web design really matured and people began to appreciate how effective subtlety can be.

However what xomaxhox has done is make the colours much less subtle. That's what is making the design look bad in my opinion, not that he's got inspiration from Garry.

I hope you show us the next iteration. :) Although I only managed this once. I tried to do it again and have so far failed.

When I just move my mouse from top to bottom the menu is open till i put my house back at the menu.
