Very bland, but you don't do the design do you?
I think he does.
I can't anticipate what browser someone will be using. [editline]16th November 2011[/editline] I like it to be honest, making things work the same across different browsers is fun to me.
Liking it is the only reason to need! :) To be fair, I do think it's pretty fair to see that the days of needing to support IE 6 are essentially gone now, work website gets negligible IE6 visitors.

Oh Hurray, 1000 posts in 4 years!
www.lucaselzinga.com What you all think? need some Comments/Criticism on it.
You should stay away from adding space in your file name. It should only be done when nessary. You should make the menu highlight based on where the user is

The corporate sector still has a considerable IE6 base, these are companies with very expensive custom-made bloat software developed with ActiveX and other related nonsense which mandate the use of IE6. With that said, I'm certain none of you will have to worry about that, and thankfully neither do I, anymore - just a little historical side-note.
Something is missing...and I can't tell what :x Any ideas? - snip - see below
that jpg compression is fucking awful;
Imgur seems to be cutting on the bandwidth costs or something, thus the horrible compression. I switched to a private host because of that, min.us might also be a good option.
I would recommend anyhub but they're shutting down :(
igmkk
How's this then?
I think it's missing a footer of sorts with privacy policy, contact us, those kinds of things
Oh, it has one. It also has a top login/register bar I just am concentrating on the center of the page at the moment as it needs a redesign.
hey stinkyjoe build me a site ill pay you like 5 bucks bro, good $ o wait you wouldn't be able to snag that 5 smackers anyway cause you never respond to your PM's, :O, oh well! just missed out on 5 big ones, YOUR LOSS PAL i would have given you a pearl necklace after too. i don't even know what thread i'm posting in i just know it's the last one you posted in so suck it, sucker! ima take your would-be 5 bucks and rub it all over my testicles. and then i'll buy a sandwich. and then ill rub that all over my testicles too. you could be me right now, instead you're a poor 5-buck-less loser. if only you had responded to your pm's... that's right, marinate in your own shame
$5? Most web devs wouldn't touch anything less than $500.
wrong, 5 bucks is a fucking fortune, you're clearly very moronic and know nothing about the industry.
I'm not sure what you're doing here. I'll assume you're trolling, if so get out. [editline]16th November 2011[/editline] I'll have content soon. Just have to fine tune it a bit.
Just trying to get a hold of stinkyjoe's faggot ass and teach you fools a thing or two about the value of 500 pennies, don't mind me. If you want to make 5 dollars from scratch, you must first create the universe. -Carl Sagan --Michael Scott (User was banned for this post ("Flaming (again)" - Starpluck))

I can't get on steam now, I'm at work, and they're not paying me upwards of 10$ to bum around on Steam. Either get on Skype or stop disturbing these nice people, sheesh. [editline]16th November 2011[/editline]
How's this then?
I don't love that logo, but everything else is pretty damn cute, I like it! The blue "Join" button looks a tad dull, as if the colors are just a bit too flat for the effect you're going for.
My teacher just told me about a guy who came out of my school around 20 years ago, went to live in America and started this company which, as I understand, helps compaines build mobile experiences for their products. Now the same guy is looking to hire somebody in my school and my teacher said he's going to suggest that he hires me because I seem to be the most fit in my school for a job like this.
Some of you may remember this design from a few months ago. Since then I abandoned it and have recently come back to it. I need to fine tune the header by adding 1px borders etc like on the footer. This time the different colors actually correlate to each other as they're just brightened or lightened. Logo font and name is not final. [editline]a[/editline] I'm unsure of what to do with it when I'm done. Hopefully I'm going to get an apprenticeship next year with the software development company that my school has. I don't know if I'll distribute it with them, by myself or open source it. Feedback is welcome, I'm really torn on what to choose.

Try applying this (iamacyborg posted it a page ago): http://www.pearsonified.com/typography/ EDIT: Also, if it doesn't already, try to make the content use a fixed width.

I want to get the header and footer looking as good as I can before I continue with it. Thanks, I'll take it into consideration when I get started on it.
but they pay you upwords of $10 to bum around on FP? man, biased fuckers, but if that's the case surely you could take a min to respond to a pm :o or hey, do that when you're not making twin 500 pennies. that works too. i feel i'm just as deserving as adamjon858 for you to tell me i'm pretty damn cute is all. actually more so cause that guy's sarcasmometer is busted to shit. <3 you lots, tell your gf she can join us next time instead of watching creepily from the window

That's already ten times better.
How's this then?
The biggest problem I feel is that the background is so vibrant that it sort of vies for the attention of the viewer more successfully than what should be the main focal point - the content. Indeed, the background blue colour is richer and more saturated, so it kind of looks confusing that the foreground blue is rather duller than the background. Personally I might try a colour closer to white for the container, if not actually just using pure white (I'd also try to make it lift off the page with some bevels/shadows because it all feels distinctly flat). I dunno, I think it's mainly contrast throwing me. The Get Started button has uneven amounts of spacing - it's closer to the left than the right, and since it isn't aligned to anything its placement just looks sloppy. The bullet points feel a little cramped (though I'd say they only need ~1-3px more space though), and then Join button's border being larger than the input form looks odd considering they're clearly supposed to fit together. I suppose one could argue that it makes it stand off, but it just makes it look to me as if the stroke was applied to the outside of the button and the inside of the form field.
All valid points. I need to start aligning stuff better in my mockups as I always do in the finished product. Truth be told, I was feeling lazy and didn't align the join button properly (*doh*). Background is next for a redesign. Problem is, this is a huge huge project and I keep getting told of new features/ways they want the site to work. They don't seem to care too much about having a super nice design as long as it's clean so I think I'm just going to the bare minimum for design and focus on new features until it's popular enough that they want to spend $$$ on a designer. In which case...I know the first place I'd come to look for a dedicated designer. :P I also need someone to basically trace and awesomeify 192 neighborhood maps. I've figured out a way to do them in about 30 minutes each, but with some macros I'm sure it could be sped up. We're holding off to mid-December for that part. But essentially $10/map or something like that...we'll see.

make the width of the content a bit smaller than the menu [editline]16th November 2011[/editline] and does it look ok when you justify your texts?
