Depends on the country you live in. Most places copyright is automatic.

In the US all that's required is a copyright VISIBLE on the web page (put it in the footer). It's then automatically copyrighted to you (use your real name or a registered company name)

I'm just stating what I've always read and been taught. Though not required for automatic copyright, it helps for it to be there if someone ever wants to try and douche you legally since it's then blatantly obvious that it's yours

Not saying that it's not a good idea to add a copyright notice. Just that it absolutely is not a requirement like you claimed it was.

I had assumed that since registration just acts as something to help show original creator/date when it's applied to things like DMCA takedowns that it worked in the same way for infringement suits. That's interesting to me though, what happens if you're running a blog and someone copies a post and you want to sue for it? They can't expect someone to actually register every blog post...

One would presume you copyright the blog itself? Shouldn't that umbrella cover all content on the site?

So I just used a live distro of linux to go into my Windows partition and replace explorer.exe with the windows7 version, but I didn't notice it was the 64bit version and I'm on 32bit, so now I'm left with a black desktop and I have to open applications using task manager :v:

If anyone has 32bit windows 7 could you please pack and send me C:\Windows\explorer.exe? Thanks.

For all content that exists already, yes. I'm not sure if it would automatically apply to all new content though.
