striptags is not the right way to deal with it, use htmlspecialchars()
[editline]14th August 2011[/editline]
You should also be escaping everything, even if you know they're only going to be numbers. Escaping everything is a good habit to get into, and the view engines in some web frameworks (Rails' ERB, Erubis, and Razor in ASP.NET MVC) actually force you to unescape if you need to output html, rather than the other way round.
Huh didn't know that.
Is there any point of securing the image dimensions?
That's... a lot of brown. Looks a bit dull, I think.
Whole theme of the site is brown. :v:
Is there any point of securing the image dimensions?
is there any point not
Whole theme of the site is brown. :v:
Throwing a bit more cream and beige in there wouldn't hurt.0
eg. On the background for "TF2R Item Raffles" or the nav bar
is there any point not
pretty logical, but not doing something would save time and effort
is there any point not
I guess not v:v:v
Well it SHOULD be more secure now.

Bust my internet stick so no video/media till I'm back in the UK (iPhone internet is slow!). But the map-side of the game is looking good, the map is drawn as a large image, however all decorations/nature/etc are drawn as individual tiles on top, allowing you to walk behind buildings/etc. All works very nicely, almost got map-loading/changing working.
Then onto battles I guess ...
Just working on my personal website design. It's an old concept.

Thats pretty cool, are those boxes images or CSS effects?

I like it!
I think though, perhaps you could tone down that reflection just a tiny bit so it's not as distracting when you have some content in that box.
Coming up with a design for my web dev/computer site...
I can't think of what to put in the little space below the site name.
Ideas?

Where's your content? Web design is about content; without content it's not much more than decoration. Content content content, content. Try again with some dummy content

It looks nice, though the header-ish thing looks rather odd just being tossed there like that. How does it look aligned to eg one of the boxes?
Too simple?
Bear in mind that the bottom links will actually be aligned, and the image is just a placeholder for a slideshow similar to, say, nivoslider.
[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36965208/v2.png[/thumb]
You should align those so we can see what it looks like when it's done properly.

What you've given us is like asking someone to estimate your assessment grades based on a rough sketch.
Yeah but I suck with aligning stuff in GIMP :(

Distribution with relation to layer.
What about the rest of the design -.-
Why on earth are the links that huge?
Why on earth are the links that huge?
So you can't miss them if you're wearing a blindfold with your monitor turned off.
You know, just in case.
Thats pretty cool, are those boxes images or CSS effects?
It's a CSS box with a shine image inside, which I intend to float over the top of the project images maybe.

Do you mean the bar at the top or the project tool tip? Because I like both like that for now but they will probably change as I keep messing around with it.
Finished making some pretty jquery form validation:

(scroll down for the form)
It looks good, although I have trouble reading the text.

Ah okay, I didn't want it to be too big but I'll make it a tad bigger then

It looks like you use pts to size it, I would suggest em for the benefit that it will scale nicely to bigger screens, 0.8em looks nice and is still small. (Just a suggestion though)

Yeah I did use pt, I'll give em a go then, thanks

Wow...You have almost the exact radial background of the design I'm working on right now. I'll post it in a sec for comparison.
Having fun, made a silly page for my filebox which is a service that my college provides: https://filebox.vt.edu/users/samm/ :v:
Not much to do with it, you can use client-side scripts and server-side includes along with a 30MB limit.

Exactly, goes along with my theme of making it silly.
