I would like this too....it's just the main reason for posting sites/screenshots is to get feedback.
I was just informed by a German guy who uses my plugin that the logging of IPs is illegal in Germany (unless a fault or illegal activity was detected). This doesn't pose a problem for me as I am not in Germany and not under their jurisdiction however as my plugin is used on German blogs I am currently making some of them liable to prosecution. Heads up for anyone else releasing code publicly:
You should store IP addresses with the 4th section missing (55.66.77.88 => 55.66.77.xx) and then geolocation and other lookups can be done with 01 substituted for the xx (will still get same results for country).
On occasions when you need to be able to distinguish between different IDs then they should be stored as a double MD5 (at least) as this will still let them be unique without storing the actual IP.
The above two methods cannot be used together (otherwise someone could just go through all 255 possible xx values to find the matching hash and voilla got the IP) - use which ever is appropriate for your project.
Yeah
Tell me more please. Does one have to go out of their way too much to work with AJAX? or is it seamless?

Wow, that's a pain in the ass for developers.

Not waywo:
Using HTML & CSS to it's full potential.

Not waywo: it's spelled "its" not "it's". Sorry to be an annoyance but those spelling mistakes are the worst.

And what law should that be. It's not illegal. The Privacy protectors don't like to see it - however - from state to state different courts say different things. And most of them don't see an IP as "private data" as in Germany every provider uses dynamic ip's. Also, even if some states don't allow it, I wouldn't know one final decision where someone had to pay or go to jail.

Sorry I just can't stand those errors. Is it so hard to spell it correctly? I'll be honest, it makes you look like an idiot, no offence. Not to mention it destroys your credibility.

I'm trying really hard, but I honestly can't make out what you're even trying to say...mind explaining it again?

You don't like "it's" but you're perfectly fine with "WHAT DO". What the fuck.
The current discussion is another reason why a 'post your site' thread is good

That has nothing to do with posting your own website.

Besides the Web Dev section is hardly the whole of Facepunch.

why are you so against this? It's nice to just go down a series of links rather than go through pages and pages with perhaps 2 links per page + politics + the very occasional shitposting
You don't like "it's" but you're perfectly fine with "WHAT DO". What the fuck.
Uh, what do is a playful title. Of course it's fine when it's used in a funny/sarcastic way. But if people use it without joking, it's just dumb.
