I didn't design them.
I didn't design them.
In the original ones the effect looked way more subtle. You might get away with it making it less visible and adding a fade transition.

The colours are identical to the original ones (literally same hex code). The extra ones do have less subtle hover change. Please be aware I didn't code them either (the only bit of code that is mine is the top:2px;) I assumed that jsFiddle would have made it clear that I had forked another fiddle but obviously it hasn't. Not sure why they called it forking - they should have just called it copying since it doesn't say when a fiddle has been forked.
You can change it, you're not stuck to his design only.
You can change it, you're not stuck to his design only.
I know but Terabytes was saying that he preferred the original design - when in actual fact they are the same. I agree that the additional ones are different but the first lot (the ones that recreate the Orman Clark ones have the same colours).
You can change it, you're not stuck to his design only.
Yeah, I know, I was just pointing out that in my opinion they look a little weird.
Anyway, this is qfi.im's last month of life. I'll be shutting it down if I don't get enough donations by the end of the month.
As an effort to instruct users and thus possibly gain more donations, I'll add a welcome box for first-time users.

I'm also rolling back to the old popup for donations, the one I had initially. If that doesn't work I won't be able to pay for qfi.im with my own money and that means I'll have to close it.

Damn man. I love qfi.im. It's one of the best things that came out of Facepunch, imo. Now how am I going to download all of my jailbait porn?

Care to post the reason why you're rating me dumb?

Hey I know that donating to qfi.im is a gesture of kindness (or whatever) but personally I would like to get something in return? no matter how small just something.
Hey I know that donating to qfi.im is a gesture of kindness (or whatever) but personally I would like to get something in return? no matter how small just something.
I agree! Maybe some sort of service...like...a box where you drop links, and get a direct download link in return? Hah, I'm just thinking up random ideas here, don't mind me.
Hey I know that donating to qfi.im is a gesture of kindness (or whatever) but personally I would like to get something in return? no matter how small just something.
Right! I totally agree that a free service is not enough, so I'll start mailing t-shirts to random people.
On a serious note though, if you donate it's because you've used and appreciate qfi.im, and I don't see whatever else could be given to you apart from a rare and free service. Plus, there's a list of the people who have donated for you to brag with your friends.

Working on giving first time users a more streamlined interface by removing the share panel and showing the twitter feed, plus the introduction I've shown earlier.

Next up, I'm reverting to the old nice popups for donations.

A "copy"/ripoff of the battle-engine from the Pokémon games.
Right now you can chose any of your Pokémon from a database and it loads that pokémons stats, attacks, name osv.
Then it creates a little Pikachu that you can battle.
You can attack, and if Pikachu dont faints he will randomly use any of his 4 attacks. When you beat him you get XP and eventuly you will level up.
It's only a fraction of the real engine ofc, but it's a start...

Well duh, but as i have said, i dont know design. I just code.
I only make the basic form so i can test out the code.
If i am ever gonna release this to the public i will get someone to make a nice UI, so dont worry!

Out of curiosity, how much does your hosting actually cost for qfi.im? Including what you pay for the DDL
Out of curiosity, how much does your hosting actually cost for qfi.im? Including what you pay for the DDL
"Just" 8€ a month. This doesn't mean that I can afford to pay for it myself. I need support from the actual website that's using the money, and I find it reasonable that qfi.im has to pay for itself since I don't personally use it and I don't think I should spend my own money to give someone else a free service.

Sure it looks like shit, but it's called the learning process.
You're not going to create a beautiful website every time you do a school project. You have to learn things first, and practice.

The teacher gives them a class period per day to design a website in Photoshop. The teacher doesn't know HTML and gave TropicalV2 the "wow that's amazing! Good job!" It wasn't more for the "i'm shit at design" but the "haha the teacher liked this"

the only reason i took the class was to learn basic html and it turns out that the teacher doesn't know html. we have to make a website in photoshop everyday and submit it to him. he told me my websites were good and they all had potential, i can't even take the class seriously.

i'm about to make 5 PETA websites, anyone want to help?
qfi's code is both bad and wonderful at the same time. I just had to remove (literally cut them away, no further editing) a few lines to completely remove a feature and all of its interactions (many) with the rest of the page, without breaking anything. When I loaded the page to check if it was working, it had reverted to the behavior it had before adding that feature.
THIS THING HAS A SOUL.

In other news, the old donation bubble is back in all of its previous glory.

Just curious, how do you make the vertical line separating both sides of the page go all the way down? (Assuming you're using floats)

Somehow, I eventually ended up at
<style>
/*...*/
#sidebar {
position:fixed;
top:0px;
left:0px;
bottom:0px;
width:170px;
background-color:#DDE4EA;
border-right:solid #C5C4C4;
padding-left:10px;
}
/* ... */
</style>
and I also have a #right which is everything else, because I want the #sidebar to stay put while the #right side goes up and down, whereas (I think...) using height:100% it would (among other problems) not continue down a long page.
How do I make it so that my webpage has a bit of padding at the bottom? Currently the webpage ends as soon as the div ends, but adding a border doesn't make a difference.

Whoops, sorry I thought this was general chat and questions in the same thread like in the Linux section, my bad.
Add a margin to the bottom of the content box?
