Is it hard to ship a game on Steam? Say I have a little project that's been refined to commercial quality. It's a 2d game and not the hottest thing in the world, but it's a little casual game. Would I be able to get a Steamworks deal? :s
Are there any plans to improve the third-party Steam web API? For example, could a user grant access to a chat application via OpenID to chat through it, as opposed to Steam, without giving up their password? Are there any plans for an official Steam client for iOS/Android?
For example, could a user grant access to a chat application via OpenID to chat through it, as opposed to Steam, without giving up their password?
for a while there was an API to change a user's nickname, group membership, friends list
What's Valve's stance on projects like OpenSteamworks, SteamRE, and Vapor?

Aka don't email people at the TF2 team, people not high up, writers, etc
Btdubs wingless, if this is for sheezy, thanks for giving us the opportunity to ask these questions.
No prob. Check my Steam friends list, he's there.
Do you use i++ or ++i? Does everyone have the same sized monitor as Gabe?
I can answer that, no. I toured valve a couple months ago, most of them have around 20-27" monitors, along with a second monitor of varying size. My memory may be bad, though.
(From Portal 2 - The final hours)
I was in that book. Also, ask him if I can get an internship this summer haha.
When will there be a Source SDK update? Will code for newer versions of Source (DOTA2, P2, L4D2, Source 2009 etc) be released for modders to use? If he can actually answer the above...
When will Episode 3 be released?
Have you tried Garrysmod, if you have, what do you think about it?
Do you play the games you make? How about other Valve titles? What kind of games do you like playing? Do you have any interest in any form of science(non computer related) like for example physics, chemistry, astrology..?
Have you tried Garrysmod, if you have, what do you think about it?
He has Garry (:D) on his friends list. I'm sure he's tried it.
Do they still use faceposer at all?
Also, what operating system do you use? If linux, what setup? IDE?
(){ }
or
() { }

(){ }
or
() { }

To rephrase that: K&R or Allman?
Also, what operating system do you use? If linux, what setup? IDE?
Pretty sure it's windows, given that they produce windows binaries. If Valve used linux I'm pretty sure we'd have steam for linux by now.
Pretty sure it's windows, given that they produce windows binaries. If Valve used linux I'm pretty sure we'd have steam for linux by now.
They also use Visual Studio, pretty much confirming Windows. (I asked him a while back.)
Pretty sure it's windows, given that they produce windows binaries. If Valve used linux I'm pretty sure we'd have steam for linux by now.
Nothing says he doesn't run Linux at home though. He's a programmer, not just a VALVe developer.
Nothing says he doesn't run Linux at home though. He's a programmer, not just a VALVe developer.
Oh yeah, I read it as meaning what do Valve use :P My bad.
What's the average amount of lines of code you write per day? And the maximum you've ever written in one day?
What's the average amount of lines of code you write per day? And the maximum you've ever written in one day?
Do you know those numbers yourself?
Do you know those numbers yourself?
First one i agree with you, But the second one he might know. Personal best kind of thing
So when are you going to be interviewing him? Oh and a question: What is your process of brainstorming ideas?
Come ooonnnnnn I MUST HAVE MY ANSWERS D:
I was waiting on a few more questions but I'll start putting questions together so I can be ready whenever. I'll try to do it as soon as possible.
