EXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY 25th NOVEMBER 10:00PM GMT. Happy programming! It's probably better this way.
I thought we should make a game in a short time? Now it's like i ever make my games :&
Extending it 5 days ruins the whole idea in my opinion.
why are you guys acting like a week is a ridiculous length of time to make a game in? it's a still a fairly restrictive time limit.
why are you guys acting like a week is a ridiculous length of time to make a game in? it's a still a fairly restrictive time limit.
Because I planned a game suitable for 2 days of work and hence I finished mine in 2 days. Having another 5 days of work on top of that makes my initial planning pointless. I'm just annoyed is all.
Simple fix. Do it like Ludum Dare. The main competition with 2 days, and the casual with (in this case) 7 days
Simple fix. Do it like Ludum Dare. The main competition with 2 days, and the casual with (in this case) 7 days
Ludum Dare has considerably more participants. The way FP programming competitions go, we're lucky to get 3 entrants. Splitting them is pointless.

In my case there's practically nothing I can to to improve my game other than create 5000 different power-ups.

Oh, thank jebus for the extra time. Problems with software and schoolwork have taken a huge chunk out of my time. I will probably have something to show for the time I have spent.
No offense but if there's NOTHING you can do to improve your game you either made a godlike game, or more likely a terrible game.
2nd option.
I may be back in thanks to the expansion of time, but I'm not sure...
Ok if the time is expanded now i think i just start a new idea/game; Some fucking deathmatch game with powerups, a lot of blood and bots :v: Color picking system is working :)

Christmas list me thinks
This might give me a chance to enter, seeing as I just finished getting my networking working I could probably throw something together.
There is this one networking bug I can not find. I hate programming.

Next month, there shouldn't be a rule about joining after the contest has started. I don't really see the point in listing contestants in the first place. I've watched the contests in the mapping forum for years, and the recurring theme is that only about a fifth of contestants actually submit anything. This contest is actually worse than that, because everyone and their dog will sign up "just in case" they decide to submit anything. Then, as already seen, people will just quit early. The other problem is that some potential contestants, like myself, will be excluded because they noticed the thread two hours late. Moral of the story: Don't force people to sign up, just accept submissions during the contest. Only list contestants so that people know who might be entering.

I haven't worked on my project since the original deadline.
