A little icon isn't telling me anything I don't know already. You should know when you say something dumb, you don't need someone on the internet telling ya that.
If people know what they are saying is dumb, why would they say it?
You guys care too much about single ratings, you should only care if you have 3+ ratings of the same kind. People spam and keep grudges using ratings for some reason.

Hah have a tool! That's for picking on me when I was just a child
But seriously sometimes I rate jallen dumb just to see if he edits his post with: WHO RATED ME DUMB - EXPLAIN YOURSELF
I love you jallen. :love:

Exactly.

I'm pretty sure this is the 5th time you've had a rating rainbow in the past 8 months :/

me too its great. oh ThePuska does that too now.
I'd like to preemptively ask which of you, if anyone will rate me dumb. Thank you.
Working on spacecraft. Here's part of the panel, the front one:

Added some panels relating to lights, etc. All those keys and switches work. Panel T10 is for displaying remaining fuel for various systems in-flight (it kind of helps the pilot who sits there).
I rewrote the simulation, so adding new stuff is really really easy (for me at least). It takes very little time to draw background for panel and place switches there. And oh yeah, I've drawn knobs (didn't have them before), hope you like them. They aren't very good (kind of facing "wrong way"), but that was as much as I could do so they would still be recognizeable as knobs. And also so they would be contrast enough.
I had to try out over 20 different versions of that knob (various contrast, size, placement, orientation, etc) before I found the perfect one. It had to be contrast enough to be clearly seen, but not too noticable on the panel itself. I think my knob satisfies both.
Are all the buttons functional?

I like your magic more magic switch, because I too, am aware of the story around it :3:
Are all the buttons functional?
Yes, that's the point of the whole project - simulating ALL systems of the spacecraft.
There's plenty more panels above (didn't finish rewriting them under new simulation, and working on APU system after I rewrite the ones I wrote so far).
Example (pic from this thread, from somewhere before):

(the right-most panels relate to APU system I'm currently writing)
There's also software part, which runs on computers (and the computer system is also simulated, including all devices which convert analog signals to digital data, etc; including failsafe systems which monitor all computers, and allow some computers to vote against other ones).
Oh yeah, originally that "magic" switch was just nameless switch, then I forgot what it was doing, so I put that paper there as a joke. It doesn't actually crash ships computers (even if it did, there's 4 of them. Even if it crashes 4 of them, there's backup 5th one which is separate from first 4).
I just fixed some color printing problems on windows for buildit, so now you can use custom colors, and not have buildit break everything.
So if you use powershell everything should work out :v:

that is crazy. you're like cathbadh on crack.
The ratings are there for a reason, people who say "lol i dont care about ratings" are just idiots.
How could you say that? I find it idiotic to care about ratings when some people (including me sometimes) will rate someone at random just for the hell of it.
Since they really have no meaning half the time, I really don't care about them, and it's not stupid at all to think that way.

Usually, when someone (or even yourself) rates your post, you will usually get more of that rating. Even when your post isn't even <rating>.

Here's list of sensors I have so far: http://www.everfall.com/paste/id.php?j3hpze46s7kb
And that's far from being complete list, there's gonna be a whole bucket more sensors for engines and engine mechanics, and two buckets of temperature sensors.
I believe soon I'm gonna require to implement a JIT here...
How the hell am I supposed to fly that thing :psyduck:

Not sure if i misread or missed it completely, but what are you doing this project for? school? and is it going to be a flight sim or just simulating the panels etc?
Added a menu bar for my OpenGL window.
Will use this save/load thing for saving my map.
I will use the code from my prev post for saving and loading coordinates.
(I'm using a swedish version of windows XP)
How the hell am I supposed to fly that thing :psyduck:
There's documentation which has all checklists for all procedures you might want to perform, and it will also describe you every system of the ship and tell you how it works. Kind of like STS (space shuttle) orbiter manual, but maybe not 1100 pages.
Not sure if i misread or missed it completely, but what are you doing this project for? school? and is it going to be a flight sim or just simulating the panels etc?
It's my own project, and it's going to be internal systems simulation (at least that's how I plan it right now). It's written in Lua, and is integrated into existing simulator (currently - X-Plane, but potentially - Orbiter too).
Right now it uses X-Plane for rendering world and providing basic physics, it only tells X-Plane control surface deflections and stuff like that. And reads back data like speed, air pressure, etc, which is later used in systems simulations to add realistic grain/noise to the values, or for example convert single value (airspeed) into several pressures measured by sensors (upper mid lower pressures, static pressure) which are later converted into airspeed by computer system (yeah, sounds redundant, but it adds noise and realistic mistakes in process).
There is separate project on engineering the vehicle itself (purely engineering side, making the model in SolidWorks CAD software), although it's moving a bit slower cause I'm still learning how to actually model in SolidWorks. I might just go back to paper, and only enter already measured and known stuff into SW..

Very soon I will need a save / load dialogue like that. What API calls are you using?

It can fly for you. But you still need to perform some stuff yourself, and of course watch over it so it doesn't fly to Cuba, or you know, crash :P

FILE *file = NULL;
if(GetOpenFileName(&g_OpenInfo))
{
file = fopen(g_OpenInfo.lpstrFile,"rb");
}
and GetSaveFileName()
Woo got SFML installed.

Has been answered.

I'm making progress. Still not all too familiar with C++ and I don't like the OO at all.
