He probably read this and took it for the absolute truth: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.git/57643/focus=57918
Let me be a bit hypocritcal about my previous statement:
linus torvalds likes VB, there goes his credibility :v:

Not exactly. I've been a C programmer for a couple years now. I do work with a couple other languages (because I'm forced to, a good bit of things are sadly written in Python, and you can't do web dev in C). Although I love to spike controversy, I actually do believe C is the greatest language. The closer to the metal the better. x86 Assembly doesn't take my trophy, because it's over-complicated to write by hand.
But for the record, C# and Java are shitty languages. I'm sad people couldn't pick a better language to argue over.
For the past few years, I've been fiddling with SDL and OpenGL, wasting my time on kiddie stuff. I soon plan to start contributing to opensource projects, and hopefully someday eventually the Linux kernel and Mesa (because the opensource Radeon drivers suck ass). Both are entirely written in C. In layman's terms, a huge chunk of the backbone of your daily productivity is written in C.
I don't actually hate C++, it's just a fun thing to argue over. I just don't like writing in it. The structure of the language is odd, and is filled with way too much bullshit. C and C++ are tied with speed, they both use the same compiler these days (I use GCC/G++). I guess you could say I'm a Linux fanboy. But this is a good argument: http://harmful.cat-v.org/software/c++/linus
- Although, the bottom argument on the article is outdated.
I would much rather prefer games to be written in C++ than C# or Java any day of the week. It saves my hardware a lot of work.

What you're pretty much saying is that it's better to rush something and get it done, than do it right. You uploaded this from a Mac. I can't take you seriously.

How much experience do you have in professional software development?

You were actually semi-correct. But I read it years upon years ago.

Professional: You're a big boy now and people are actually paying you money to do this by a deadline.
Also why. Did you really get a kick out of this?
