Shut up Jallen you're just jealous that nullsquared was a better programmer than you. :v:
He comments more than he codes.
To be fair, everyone was being a complete asshole in that thread. But then his response wasn't exactly great :v: [editline]11th November 2010[/editline]
He comments more than he codes.
Who does? What?
What, I just said what happened, I didn't insult him or anything. I don't understand your point :S
No I was just fucking with you... Never mind. :/
He did the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears when being proved wrong and yelling, "Lalalala I am the best".
Just read an interesting article on why to use OpenGL instead of DirectX http://blog.wolfire.com/2010/01/Why-you-should-use-OpenGL-and-not-DirectX
What kind of bizarro world is this where engineers are not only going crazy over Microsoft's latest proprietary API, but actively denouncing its open-standard competitor?
It is pretty crazy really. When I go home this weekend I'm bringing back my redbook.
-snip-
I know this isn't really the right place to ask, but seems as there's talk about DirectX I thought I'd throw it in here: If you had a piece of software written to use DirectX 11 running on a DirectX 11 compatible operating system, but with only DirectX 9 hardware - Would it run well ? Assuming of course that you were not using any DirectX 10 / 11 hardware features - An example usage would be to be able to use DirectX 11's deferred rendering contexts on DirectX 9 hardware. I would just test it but I don't have any DirectX 9 hardware to hand.
It's only backwards compatible with DX10 hardware. I don't think you can even start a DX11 game with DX9 hardware. I could be completely wrong though.
Was this a school assignment? If so, I would love to replicate this. Could you send me the assignment?
Sure: https://maconstate.view.usg.edu/webct/RelativeResourceManager/sfsid/1307136467331 (Link might not work, just tell me if it doesn't) Just know that I just threw it together so I could go to bed, so don't expect god code or something. (Still should be readable/understandable) Oh, and the over-commenting is for the teachers benefit, ignore it. (Or don't) The colors seen in the second rainbow can be generated by changing the lines
float x= ratio* 1- (float)0.5; -and- float red/blue= (float)(1- Math.pow(x+ (float)0.5, 2));
to
float x= ratio* 2- 1; -and- float red/blue= (float)(1- Math.pow(x+ 1, 2));
And the softening isn't really needed with the new colors, so comment that out.
Now working on pathfinding for my RTS... http://cl.ly/410be455e03aac0d7e4a Stack overflows when it can't reach a tile though :eng99: I think I need to start over
You really shouldn't do it recursively.
It's only backwards compatible with DX10 hardware. I don't think you can even start a DX11 game with DX9 hardware. I could be completely wrong though.
I thought that I had read somewhere that it would at least run, at least I hope you're wrong as it would be a shame if you can't do it. I think I might need to build a DirectX 9 machine to actually test it, just have to think where my old graphics cards are ...
I dont know who is Nullsqared, but from what Jallen said about him he sounds like a massive faggot
I dont know who is Nullsqared, but from what Jallen said about him he sounds like a massive faggot
He had a massive ego, started arguments a lot, but is a very good coder. He was alright when he wasn't arguing or whatever too. And people did shit stir on more than one occasion.
Oh, so he was a good coder, but had a "bitchy" personality? It's forgiveable then, many genius people are bastards. I thought he was some 12 year old faggot that started acting like a bastard because he thought he was better at coding than everyone else
It's forgiveable then,
no
no I dont know,maybe it's not, but I wouldn't get angry at him, in the worst case I would just ignore his faggotry
no I dont know,maybe it's not, but I wouldn't get angry at him, in the worst case I would just ignore his faggotry
YOU WEREN'T THERE MAN. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE!! But seriously, just drop it, it's not really important. You can trawl through the archives if you want.
Oh god slowpunch, what have you done
It's not slowpunch, i was just trying to post, and clicked the post button many times :v:
YOU WEREN'T THERE MAN. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE!! But seriously, just drop it, it's not really important. You can trawl through the archives if you want.
so many broken quotes
What's preferable, Sourceforge or Google Code? Thought any of you may know. Working on a project :D
Google Code
