Just got some more details about my course, we're going to be using C# with Visual Studio 2010!
It's great because I was afraid we'd end up doing something silly like pascal with some small time IDE, but now I have a head start >:)
Yesterday (at uni) I started learning XNA again :buddy:

What uni are you going to?
I dont see how that is true, Of Mice & Men is quite an interesting story.
Not when you pick apart every single sentence for 5 hours a week, for 6 months.
I have a really old scripting language code that I have so I'm going to convert it into a compiler and make it compile to NBC(assembly for NXT robots)

Here's an improvised scene with a partitially carved sphere

Still lots to be done, but a promising start.
What device is that?
It's an A1337. :tinfoil:
:aaaaa:
WHAT
I DON'T EVEN
Brb, buying an iPad
This compiler is going to be really hard because the code I had was in fact an interperter.
Which means I am going to be writing a lot more code than i thought.

AFAIK the best games course is in Derby (and the one respected by employers) but tbh you're much safer doing a computer science course.

I had a look around Staffs last saturday
It looks awesome :D

How about an iPhone 4 version :v:
Does anyone here have an MSDNAA account, got mine from my uni today and the download speeds are diabolical. 56KB/s :eng99:

Is there anything you can't do with Chromium?
Staffordshire
Interested to know how this works out for you.
I need a degree if I am to become an IT Teacher and I'd rather do something that can keep me interested. :)

The possibilities are endless. :science:
Trying to make a makeshift tripod for my iPhone 4 to do a video of this...

Yeah it's good, although I still sort of wish I picked the games programming award instead of prog + design. I guess it helps to know stuff like modelling but I can't be doing with all these high concept & design docs :eng99: The awards are normally designed on the assumption of no pre-existing knowledge though.
They have some pretty good equipment (a RARE mocap studio for one) and there are quite a few hardware upgrades going on (I've see many new 24" screens).
However, the uni is quite far from the town, and there's not an awful lot to do unless you live away from it.

This, although I'd imagine CS focuses more on the programming/dev side than the artsy/preproduction stuff (does it?). Not that it's an issue here in the programming section :v:

I'll try and keep you updated :keke:, we've just started looking at placements for the 3rd year. I'm enjoying it so far. We do fun stuff like participating in game jams and we sometimes have industry people come in and do talks (Codemasters, I hear Crytek and Team17 sent guys at one point but I wasn't here back then).

That is sexy.
ok you either got chrominum running on an iPad or can format a screenshot for 1024x768.
I'll post a video soon once I can get this camera still, probably tomorrow once light is a bit better.

Yeah, it's exclusively programming and tech stuff. Programming makes up 80% but there's also stuff for system design, databases, optional units for things like 3D programming and other bits like maths, operating system architecture, compiler construction etc.
If you want a technical programming job, comp sci is good.
How? I thought installing other operating systems was limited to devices with an old bootrom?
