The gun is split into three main parts, stock, mid, and barrel, the images get exported in a specific manner and then they all get slapped together. The way we do it also allows us to add accessories like scopes and grips later on if we want.
Oh, for some reason i thought it was fully random, rather then a random combination of presets.
I made a game in 24h during the BBQ Gamejam at Luxemburg this week-end. We got the following words for the theme : Jean-claude Van Damme, small, shotgun, fill and muscle.
Out of the 5 crew members, none had experience with art, two never coded in their lives, one had half a pc (A mac without unity but with photoshop, so he and someone else traded computers regularly) and me who never had any experience with unity prior to now.
So we made a simple and ugly launch game where chuck Norris launches you in the air and you have to go the furthest. You can use your shotgun to fire at the ground and keep flying a bit or you can fire in front of you to destroy the obstacles. You can also fire a new clone of JCVD, making you go further out and replenishing your ammo.
If people want to try it out, it's available here : https://mega.co.nz/#!u081AA7C!odKQlrjxfHB5ND4NWNNBE2Wc4pQTQSkVHvApecvYscQ
The start screen is in french, so here's the controls :
Up arrow to fire a clone
Down arrow to fire at the ground
Right arrow to fire in front of you.
Mind you, the enemies were added about an hour before the time limit so they don't quite work, Collision2D refusing to work.

So what did the two non-programmer, non-artist guys do?
Basically they were idea guys and they played artists a bit, getting JCVD images and editing them so we could have something a little more interesting than little balls running around.
