I'm pretty sure he did. As I was watching the progress in the WebDev section.

You mean this:

And some guy offered him guidance: you can see how that general concept turns into what he's posted, I think.

Null - one more feature idea. Vector equations of lines and planes? It wouldn't be too hard.
On the topic of your grapher null, since it uses triangles, surely adding functionality to export to .obj or something would be really simple?
As for normals directions, you could just use doubled up triangles with opposite normals so its visisble as it is in your grapher.

There is no fucking database, whoever told you that is telling you porky pies.
Vac won't detect mumble unless it itself is snooping on processes: if it works by analysing game data, there is no way for it to detect reads of memory locations. I may be late with this...

The latter two are most definitely wrong, you can't be VAC banned manually.

This page also mentions "cheat signatures", which I assume means that suspicious processes are somehow scanned against a blacklist.
They also welcome binaries of private and new hacks. The only reason I can see for that is to blacklist them.
It's also the reason why published hacks quickly become dangerous to use.

Either that's fake or he's not telling the whole story. He said it was an exploit, which means it wasn't something running on his PC, meaning he couldn't be VAC banned for it.
VAC only works when it detects a known hack, or a very popular method of hacking. Things like mumble won't ban you because it's not under a hack list.
The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modification to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

I've seen texture modifications which make the walls semi-transparent and the characters ultra bright, does VAC pick that up, and if so, is it performing checks on texture transparency? Because I know for sure that you can get legit retextures of many things.
Mmm actually I think for walls you might have to edit the gfc's, not sure though.
Please please please don't write about yourself in the third person like that.
There's no way for me to prove it. Essentially my IRL friends told me my original version looked like shit, and one of them made me a new design in Photoshop. I used his design as a guide for my own, and completely rebuilt my site from scratch yesterday.
Like I said, I'm a quick learner. And by the time this week is over, I will have proven my original statement on the previous page.

Post an example of what you imagine the interface to look like for this feature and it will be implemented.

Yes, and it will be a feature.

Indeed.

Actually no, most servers are sv_pure 0 which allow ANY custom texture modding legally (Since they modify no textures, the game just uses the custom ones instead). It's the same settings which allow custom gun textures which allow transparent walls and bright players.
Newer multiplayer source games however disable the ability to use custom wall textures, and only allow weapon and player modding.
Ofcourse there are still some hacks which bypass this system modifying memory and exe's (Ultimately leading to a VAC ban)
Why not? It sounds official.
No it doesn't. It is quite literally hard to read. I cringe every time I read a reference to yourself clearly written by yourself as if you were not yourself.
Not to mention 6+ years of C++ experience is a joke, you can't count the stuff you did when you were 10 as actual experience. In your case I'd probably just leave out that bit entirely as it does not add anything at all.
Just a random example that came to my head of somebody I'd actually want to hire.

I've been checking out the FlatRedBall engine for XNA, it's fricking awesome. You guys should check it out.

Everything a reply to this post needs is in the quote in itself.
On the topic of using first / third person, first person is ok, third person is strange. In academic writing and reports you use the neutral voice or whatever it's called.
First: We opened a can of beans for safety reasons.
Third: They opened a can of beans for safety reasons.
Neutral: A can of beans was opened for safety reasons.
They like to constantly bombard us with "how to look professional", CV advice, portfolio advice, etc. here at my university.
For a portfolio, you use first / neutral, primarily first.
Third person is more common for a group such as a company or a political party, but first person still works.
After a minor setback where the laptop that's supposed to run my sister's art project couldn't handle the 2195x3574 background texture intact, I think it's now fixed and ready for display. I think I posted here earlier that it's a painting that follows movement via webcam, it's pretty disturbing.
First time I've had to fix a problem when I don't have access to a system that's even comparable to the one experiencing it. It's probably using some integrated video card or something. I don't know, nobody's bothered to tell me anything about the specifications despite my multiple requests.
I'll try and get a few photos of the art project once it's up and running - this friday or earlier. Or perhaps a video of the reactions.

They should have just hard-coded a shader or material proxy that disallows $ignorez, $vertexalpha 'n stuff.
WAYWO has now come to people arguing about how VAC works, and fights about nullsquared's website design.
Jawalt made this post in 2010. Later in 2010 Jawalt made another post.
No it doesn't. It is quite literally hard to read. I cringe every time I read a reference to yourself clearly written by yourself as if you were not yourself.
Very well. I shall rewrite it in first person.

Yup. I'm turning 17 in a month or two, so 6+ years definitely isn't counting my first year.
In your case I'd probably just leave out that bit entirely as it does not add anything at all.
I think it adds quite a bit. Coding for 6 years is quite different from coding for 2 or 3 years.

WAYWO would be better if people weren't constantly analysing it and feeling the need to express their observations about WAYWO.
WAYWO is like the programming forum GD thread.
