Hmmm, I tried using the Freenode client, but it didn't seem to work (Unable to Connect: null). Any suggestions? lol
Then again, I'm at school, so maybe that's the culprit.
If you don't want to use a native client, try Mibbit; it's a really good, light web-client.
And, yes, the school's internet system would be the culprit there. I can't connect to the IRC on my school network either.
Edit:
A mild design document update.

And the github as well.

How's the coding conventions going? :v:
I'll be on IRC in a bit.
i would love to join, but, alas, i use c#.

We already have one person who uses C# ;)
It's not excruciatingly hard to switch over, so feel free to join if you want
You shouldn't switch over by doing a project like this though.
Do something small and use that to look up how this language does it differently than the other.
It might not be hard, but there are enough pitfalls and specialties.
Sounds like you guys are going to have fun, good luck
It's good to see some group stuff coming out of the programming section.
Good luck with your project :D
Would happy to test anything/help in anyway.
Ah, good! Someone steps forward to help test! That's good. It's always beneficial to have third-party testers; people who didn't make the game and who don't already know the details.
I'll contact you again when the need arises. Thanks for offering!
The title lead me to believe this was a gay dating thread, and Olothontor was into nerds.
No need to give your hopes up :D
We're actually making some progress =D
Like what? :v:

Could turn the OP into a full blown blog where you detail advances and art and maybe parts of code etc.
Like what? :v:
Talking about stuff we need, writing a coding convention. And producing about one line of code per day :[
As well as having Hot Gay Sex as the top priority on GitHub :<
We also have a bunch of more serious notes though.
Just saying so we don't look like a bunch of guys fooling around :v:
I can't seem to join irc, weird
Why not use sourceforge/code.google? (Never used them, just asking)
Will you upload a more complete design document sometime?
There's a slightly fuller version of the design document in the wiki on the github.

Why not Github? ;)
Just seemed the logical choice; seeing as we're using Git
So what's the status
Still working out the game engine. Lots of fractured bits of code that if pulled together might make something substantial, but otherwise it's just a bit of a mess. Still, it's getting somewhere.
I've started work on the player ships, and I'm going to work on the design document a bit more later tonight.
Sounds awesome, can't wait for some screens :j:
@Chad Mobile: The screen is black, there's not really much to screenshot right now :3
Don't forget that all of the updates are posted to github. You don't miss a thing if you follow our progress there.
I'll try to keep you vaguely posted on here, however.

Switch between the branches to see certain WIP sections of the project
I do like some of your pixel art.
Me personally i have a fair bit of ad-hoc programming / programming by coincidence experience. After my exams (june 28th) i'm looking to code something, my current best idea was a graphics/game engine (got the idea off some guy off slashdot who said he was building one from scratch with his 11 year old son :3). If it gets anywhere usable ill try and remember to contact you, maybe give you some help.
