Unity doesn't use that either... Unless you mean a different unity from [url]http://unity3d.com/unity/[/url]
That Unity uses JavaScript. That is one of the coding languages. Along with C++ and Boo.

Neither had I but apparently its a language that nobody uses. WHY its even in there I dont know.

Sorry did not realise there was a .net version of JavaScript. Unity embeds mono, so you'd be meaning C# not C++, unless they give you direct access which I don't think they do. Boo is a .net language based on Python.
Who is chad? Well basically I decided to make this game that I have always wanted. And I saw unity and thought "Cool! something I can use to make this game!" Silly me. I Know nothing about JavaScript. Plus I cant even figure out how to import models from gmax. So I am basically stuck untill I find some good tutorial that will help me with javascript. Or tell me how to export models, then import them. Ive been searching google all night but no luck so far.
[QUOTE=Blynx6;20868707]Wtf is Boo? I've never heard of it lol.[/QUOTE] It's a dialect of Python.
[QUOTE=tobias104;20869909]It's a dialect of Python.[/QUOTE] Ahh, Python i've heard of. Thanks Tobias.
[QUOTE=ZeekyHBomb;20852204]Doesn't it make you wonder that no one in this section seems to even remotely like you?[/QUOTE] We were all beginners once, and we've all done (and in some cases, still do) some terribly stupid things. Back off a bit, maybe if you weren't so harsh he'd learn. [editline]07:09PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Blynx6;20868743]Fair enough. What do I need help with? yeah because you obviously attempted to help him and seen him reject it because it's not copy pastable help.

[QUOTE=Blynx6;20870857]What are you doing in the Programming section? Ahh, one of THOSE people..[/QUOTE] I remember someone posting pseudocode and him rejecting it because it didn't compile exactly in VB, despite the code being convertible in like 10 seconds.

Everyone expects me to be as good as them. You know you [I]were[/I] new to this at one point, and that's where I am. I'm trying to learn but you're expecting me to know everything [B]you[/B] know. Slow the fuck down and maybe I'll be able to keep up with you, OK?
I don't think you get it. When we started, we asked questions, then used to answers to write OUR OWN code that worked. All you do is wait for someone to post code that you can simply copy and paste.
I don't copy and paste to use it, I check what it does. I don't just go "Hey give me code to add 2 numbers" and just copy it and continue. I see how they did it and write my own code, because I learned how to do it. I don't think [B]you[/B] get it.

Because it was in a different language that I don't completely understand. Did you read my earlier posts? I'm not the best programmer, I'm kind of new to the whole thing of it. I can't exactly learn one thing when you shove a different thing in my face.
[QUOTE=Chad Mobile;20874248]Because it was in a different language that I don't completely understand. Did you read my earlier posts? "I can't exactly learn one thing when you shove a different thing in my face." basically means "I can't learn unless you provide code I can copy paste and will do exactly what I want." We're not supposed to have to shove anything in your face, just help you, give pointers.
You're not understanding my post. I am capable of writing my own code, but some things I don't know how to do. When I asked one time, someone gave me code in a different language, and I didn't know what to do with it. Then they all flipped out and started screeching. I don't [B]want[/B] code to just copy and paste and do exactly what I want. What I [B]do [/B]want is help. It isn't helpful to just say "use this" without telling me HOW to use it and WHY to use it. It's helpful to say, "This does this when you use it like this" because your explaining what it does, how to use it, and why.
Different languages shouldn't be a problem, basic keywords like "if" are the same in all newer languages. If you can't even think that far you really shouldn't be programming.
Well I know "if" and stuff. It's just that you shouldn't expect someone who is new to programming to know everything YOU know.
If we did that, then we wouldn't have bothered to answer. We expect you to have common sense and at least basic knowledge (meaning the syntax) about the programming language you're programming in.
It's made even worse by the fact that he's using VB.NET, it's in no way easier than VC#. It's just uglier :/

Follow these steps before asking for help: [LIST=1] [*]Google it, about 100 people have asked the same question before [*]Read a tutorial, they usually answer most basic questions [*]Check the documentation, they tell you everything [/LIST] Also you need to learn basic syntax of popular languages, not how to use the language but just the syntax. This will help when people post code examples as like 1% of us use VB.

I'm learning, but you can't rush me. I learn at my own pace.
We don't rush you. We just expect that you do [i]some[/i] research yourself if the poster wasn't nice enough to explain every detail in depth.
You have no pace, you just stand still and hope for some car to bring you to the finish
