Just read a WHT thread about them and he says they claim to have spent over £400 on provisioning the VPS someone bought.

Who on earth would buy from him? People on WHT usually have brain enough to stay away from such dealers.
Would it be possible to put CPanel on one of the VPSes being offered at http://rethinkvps.com or http://fanaticalvps.com/ for a few dollars extra as an added on feature?
I don't think they offer that, you'd probably have to buy a license.

Aren't cpanel licenses cheap if you buy it for a single user?
Aren't cpanel licenses cheap if you buy it for a single user?
$15/month for a VPS license, $38 for a server; I've never heard of single-user cPanel, which would be awesome.

$15 for cPanel/WHM.
I've been looking around for a vps that would handle one of my companies projects, but all I am really finding is Linux based units or the windows units which are not including remote desktop or full admin access.
I guess possibly that I will have to go deticated :/

Really? A server is command line, there's no desktop to remote to.
And linux is the way to go, unless you're using ASP or *gasp* coldfusion, don't use windows (Also, if you're homehosting and you don't want to install linux / can't install linux)

There are certain servers which have desktop elements. Windows Server, as far as I'm aware, has a desktop, and I'm sure there are more.
supersnail11 stop flooding the world with your ignorance

Most hosting you can buy i'm pretty sure uses a command line, otherwise they'd get complaints for a slow server.

Ban him, I don't care if Garry gets pissed. Everyone would be happy.

Do this. Even if Garry gets pissed, I'm sure you can explain how supersnail's presence is detrimental to the forums
All Windows servers have RDP, what are you talking about?
Not all packages include it, Most have cpanel or plesk.
Also to the guy who mentioned command line, sorry but what I mostly require is a windows 2k3 or 2k8 environment as Linux will do no good with the project at hand.

What kind of discount would you be looking for, it's certainly an excellent idea.

Difficult to answer as I don't know how you run your business :v:
Certainly for me as a broke university student it'd be an incentive to switch to you as your packages are pretty good. I don't think I've seen anywhere doing packages for students before but it'd be cool if you did.

This, and Google Checkout.
Then I'm good.

How would people go about verifying your a student?
How would people go about verifying your a student?
Student card, email account, or verification from your educational institution.
I wasn't thinking of directly student discount, basically a single-developer/student discount, for small time developers/learners. I was thinking something like 20% flat rate off the prices.

Your prices are damn cheap anyway.

I hope this gets done!

That'd be good if you explicitly make it non-profit (to stop people just taking the discount anyway) or something I suppose. Dunno how you'd filter it out but I don't imagine it'd be that difficult to have a look at all the port 80 sites and see if they're selling shit.
FanaticalVPS have a $10 in Hetzner, Germany.
30GiB disk, unmetered bandwidth, I'm not sure about their line though.
If you want to go even cheaper, you can look at HostRail, but they're slow and US-hosted. I'm moving to Fanatical once they implement Google Checkout or something so I can pay.
Oooh, their Medium package looks nice. And i like the location of the servers.
May rent it sometime.
