If you dont have a mac, id go with android as its much less of a hassle to set up android development than iOS development
I've just found a £20 Waterstones voucher I was given ages ago, and I dunno whether to spend it on a book about iOS or a book about Android (I prefer to learn from a book rather than online). iOS - I own an iPod to test stuff, but the developer program costs $99 if I want to sell. If I learned to use XCode I could also make stuff for Mac which might be cool. Android - I don't own any android devices to test on, but their Marketplace is cheaper. I hate Objective C and Java equally, so the language is a non-issue. Has anyone had experience working with both, and if so which would you recommend? Or has anyone got any other book recommendations?
Do you have a Mac? I believe you need one to develop for ipod/phone, otheer then that I would recommend Android anyway, I dislike java yet how google have done the android, it makes sense.
I have a Macbook, development isn't a problem
I would say then whichever machine you like more, look on the online tutorials, see which makes you want to play about more. I dislike apple, yet if that is what you like more, get that
Can someone give me something quick to program in my language? Could be console based or graphics based (since I have an SFML library).

1.) Download the source to whichever SFML version you decide to use 2.) Open the VS2008 project in VS2010 3.) Allow VS2010 to convert it for you 4.) Hit compile 5.) ??? 6.) Memes!
That guide only applies to vs2008, as some things have changed in vs2010
As far as I know the only thing that's changed is this: Which you should be able to get around by going Project->Configuration properties->VC++ Directories Amirite?
Your ClearType settings make my eyes hurt
Really? I don't think I've changed them...
Your ClearType settings make my eyes hurt
It might be your monitor. I'm not seeing anything special in that screenshot.
It might be your monitor. I'm not seeing anything special in that screenshot.
All other text is fine, it's that screenshot. The contrast of the text is raped horrendously.
No I mean your monitor might use a different whatsitcalled, alignment than his?
Which would probably be the case, if we compared them side-by-side. A screenshot is totally independent of the monitor.
I've discovered Minecraft and have not opened Code::Blocks in 5 days. Help me
I've discovered Minecraft and have not opened Code::Blocks in 5 days. Help me
Hey, This was my issue too :(
I've discovered Minecraft and have not opened Code::Blocks in 5 days. Help me
Compromise: make a Minecraft server. Edit: Déjà vu. Didn't someone else mention this?
I've discovered Minecraft and have not opened Code::Blocks in 5 days. Help me
I haven't opened VS2010 in a few weeks thanks to Minecraft, and a bit of Android development I feel like a failure :eng99:

In a different thread, a fake tf2 items generator was posted, dissasembled it to find the URL, which was ended in send.php and in the url ? file=computername.txt simply replaced computername.txt with send.php, and overwrote the phisher's program with nonsense. :smug:
I want to make a particle system in non-deprecated OGL. But I keep opening and closing VS... What can I do to get the motivation to start?
