I have the emulator set to the resolution of the phone I am likely going to be able to afford , so 240x320.
Does such a thing even exist? The cheapest, most crappy android phone I could find (for £100) has a much higher resolution than that.

May you link to the £100 one by the way? if it has better resolution I am all for looking at it. £100 is the upper end of my budget right now.

Ruined this phisher's send.php again with the same hole after he again posted this backpack exploit phish scam in the TF2 section, when will they learn?

Nice, My android app was going fine, until I found out somehow putting on a higher resolution emulator messes up how it splits an image into tiles :-S
Does anyone have a ready-to-use C# binary heap class?

My code can now successfully parse the WAYWO OP and several other complicated posts. Time to get that alpha going and then work on the renderer shall commence.

Mine was brand new/refurb but I got it in store so idk. It was locked to 3 but I unlocked it myself. The phone is fucking shite (before flashing custom roms) but it's a hell of a lot better than the one you linked to lmao. I bought it because my friend got one on contract and I was impressed by the battery life (my main concern).
Also I just got my first programming assignment for university back.

Next make it parse a simple expression of the form <number><operator><number>. It's actually quite easy to do with streams.

Hey,
Does anyone have a ready-to-use C# binary heap class?
Here's mine:
[cpp]
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
namespace big_maze_solver
{
public class Heap<K, T> where K : IComparable<K>
{
public class Pair : IComparable<Pair>
{
public K k;
public T t;
public Pair(K k, T t)
{
this.k = k;
this.t = t;
}
public int CompareTo(Pair rhs)
{
return k.CompareTo(rhs.k);
}
}
public Pair makePair(K k, T t)
{
return new Pair(k, t);
}
private List<Pair> heap;
private int count;
public Heap()
{
heap = new List<Pair>();
count = 0;
}
public void push(Pair pair)
{
count++;
if (heap.Count < count)
heap.Add(pair);
else
heap[count - 1] = pair;
bubbleUp(count - 1);
}
public Pair pop()
{
if (count < 1)
return null;
Pair ret = heap[0];
heap[0] = heap[count - 1];
count--;
bubbleDown(0);
return ret;
}
public bool hasMore()
{
return count > 0;
}
private void swap(int a, int b)
{
Pair temp = heap[a];
heap[a] = heap[b];
heap[b] = temp;
}
private void bubbleUp(int c)
{
// first element
if (c <= 0)
return;
int p = parent(c);
if (heap[p].CompareTo(heap[c]) > 0)
{
swap(p, c);
bubbleUp(p);
}
}
private void bubbleDown(int p)
{
if (p >= count)
return;
int c0 = child(p);
int c1 = c0 + 1;
// we want the smaller child
int smaller = p;
if (c0 < count && heap[smaller].CompareTo(heap[c0]) > 0)
smaller = c0;
if (c1 < count && heap[smaller].CompareTo(heap[c1]) > 0)
smaller = c1;
if (p != smaller)
{
swap(p, smaller);
bubbleDown(smaller);
}
}
private int parent(int c)
{
if (c < 1)
return 0;
return (c - 1) / 2;
}
// first child
private int child(int p)
{
return 2 * p + 1;
}
}
}
[/cpp]
It's not very pretty and it doesn't have a lot of features, but it's all I needed to write for Spocco's A* challenge. It has an obscure optimization where the internal List never deallocates any memory until the Heap itself is deallocated.
Usage looks like this:
[cpp]
// <key, value>
Heap<int, MyClass> heap = new Heap<int, MyClass>();
for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i)
heap.push(heap.makePair(i, new MyClass(i)));
while (heap.hasMore())
{
var pair = heap.pop();
int key = pair.k;
MyClass value = pair.t;
}
[/cpp]

I don't even sort the A* open list anymore because it creates awesome straight edges like those ones. It's still slow and I don't understand why though. I will implement the heap tomorrow, but I'm not sure how much performance gain it will give me over a List<T> since I don't even sort it anymore.

Hey,
I'd assume it's to generate some nice, traversable dungeons.

Those generated maps look really cool.
Hey,

To generate a dungeon which is properly traversable, obviously.
Edit: Ninja'd down to the word traversable. :frown:
I created an extremely basic ascii terrain generator in a beginner's coding program (it's called Turing in case you were wondering).

Awesome, Sauce?
Looks very Dwarf Fortress-esque, Micr0
Hey,
You're all missing the point. A* is for finding the shortest path from A to B. It has nothing to do with generating maps. If you need to see if there is a path between A and B, then all you need is a floodfill, which will be much faster than using A*.
