That'd be pointless, they can't reproduce yet anyway.

The only "challenge" on these forums is trying to understand what these people are saying, everything they post is misspelled and horribly punctuated. D:

Wow.
People complain about mods who rule with an iron fist, but this is what happens otherwise.
-snip-
Cool guys mock 12-year-olds on the internet.
People complain about mods who rule with an iron fist, but this is what happens otherwise.
I've actually come to love the way this forum is ran (even though I didn't at first)
The iron fist is not nearly as iron as it used to be.
And that guy that "Won't help someone that doesn't know what his doing" is making me rage so hard...
C++ isn't hard. The only problems I have are with bool and integers, but making a console application is extremely easy.
Oh dear god.
People complain about mods who rule with an iron fist, but this is what happens otherwise.
That's a very simplistic way of looking at it. Strict rules don't make people know wtf they're talking about.
Plus, communities that function without an iron fist are preferable.
Plus, communities that function without an iron fist are preferable.
While this is true, I haven't really seen many that work like this.
Edit: And I was talking more about keeping this kinda stuff out:

I don't think there should be moderators that "rule with an iron fist", but they should still have a strict line of rules.
So I sort of agree with you Ortzinator, but I still prefer strict admins, even if I do get banned more often. It keeps people in line and in control, so the forums don't turn bad shit insane.

I'm having trouble comprehending how anybody can not understand bools or integers.
Oh dear god.
What?
He said C++ was easy but bools and integers are giving him trouble.
What else that "easy" in C++ is left?

How do you have trouble with ints and bools, exactly?
How do you have trouble with ints and bools, exactly?
Its probably hard if you have difficulty with complex tasks such as "addition" and "subtraction"
Judging by how old they are, this is probably the hardest maths they will have come across
Well. I am glad I am a better programmer then the average at that forum. One of them had problems with HTML. He /knew/ C++ though.
@Icedshot They should know algebra :/. Im 13 and I know it, (The most of the guys there are 12-14 I think).

Whaaat? I'm 16 and I started learning algebra this year at school. I knew some of it before from learning by myself but still.

What the hell? You should've started algebra waaaaayyy earlier than that.

I learned Algebra in 7th grade, when I was 13... Isn't the simplest math class you can take in high school Geometry?
Isn't the simplest math class you can take in high school Geometry?
In my school district, there's an option for people that just couldn't make it through the most basic algebra course (where its stretched over whole two years), that's just what they did in middle school.
I remember a site where bots would compete against other bots.
You could program them on your own in java.
They could play a sort of tron thingy (With those lines) or some other game they made.
The same site also hosted hacking challenges, which aren't really hacking challenges but more problem solving (automating stuff)
I forgot what it was called.
The only thing I can do now is google "hack challenges bot vs bot java programming online tron" but I can't find it. Not even in my e-mail.
I would report back if I found it.
Edit:
I found it.

Click either BitBath or Wormageddon.
You can also see the matches other people did, and when you look at them you really can distinguish the algorithms used.
Is this worthy of starting a new thread?

Holy shit there are 4 threads about 2012 in the Science Games forum on ChallengeYou.
Someone should make a site where you fight with robots implemented as virtual machines.
Maybe make them giant fucking mechs that you piece together with parts. Not only do you have to program the thing, but you have to properly maintain your weight balance and capacities, power reservoirs, heat dissipation, etc.
Mechs would have different modes of locomotion (tank treads, hover, bipedal, quadrapedal, etc.), thrusters for air combat, etc.. They could be powered by electricity from a generator or stored in capacitors/batteries (weight/sustainability tradeoff) and you would have the choice of pneumatic, hydraulic, or electroactivepolymer actuation, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. You could have rail guns, ion cannons, conventional cannons, missiles, giant-ass chain guns, artillery, energy swords, etc..
Oh finally a use for my x86 emulator
