I think it's significantly different than Ruby in that it has no statements, and that's the only supported syntax for flow control. Also the onject model if I ever manage to get to that will be significantly different too. It's similarities to ruby seem to come in how they read.
Also I'm not set on the syntax. I might do something BASIC/Lua/Rubyish instead.

Do it like the garry's mod beta.
Have a bunch of giveaways that you announce at random points and in different places, and everyone gets one except for a few people who really want them, then you release a shit load of them at once right before it's official.

Working on my current game, I've discovered just how helpful concept art is. When I used to make art assets for my games I just had a vague idea of what I wanted it to look like and I would try my best to copy the visual idea in my head to photoshop, and in many cases it looked like shit.
I found that drawing up a quick sketchup of frames of an animation or a sprite and then looking it over once more and then finally spriting it, gave me a more quality final sprite. Just a tip to any game dev code nerds with no available artist who need some help with making game art.

DMD 2.061 released, now you can't do "this = this * q" in methods anymore.. amongst other things. Also, "alias this" is still broken. :<
