Rofl, love the idea.
Here's the muzzle flash effects attached to the muzzle bone.

Pretty boring video but it's too late to make another one, whatever.

That's sweet! Is it source based, or did you make it yourself?

is this gmod?

It's custom made.
If any awesome modellers are reading this, make me some models please? :(
At the most I can knock out a reasonable hud and UI but if I want to release this then I atleast need some models and textures.

I just wan't to let you know I show my friends some of your stuff. It is too damn cool!

Whoa, that's amazing.
some progress

The physics is pretty bad, working on it.
Got bored of doing Coursework/Revision. Decided to do a little work on my game and document it. (Not sure how to embed, so have a link)

Depending on how this coming semester is, and how I balance personal project I can help you with models. PM me if interested, 6+ years modelling experience and programming knowledge, etc.

AI follows the path now, yahoo! Also got information cards working. Thoughts and such added.
They need to come in by rail, not by road. :v:

Custom made as in from scratch?
sc
Come on guys this was a legit joke but you vote him dumb just because of his reputation. Spread the love.
Custom made as in from scratch?
Yup. Just OpenGL and OpenAL. Obviously some other stuff like opus-codec for the voice chat.

The thing is, I don't really have a set style in mind. Whoever makes models for this really has a blank canvas to go wild with. I'm going to make a list of assets we need. At most it will just be a player model and weapons (view and world model) The rest I can try and do myself.
The goal is to have something basic looking that doesn't look like shit, then I can release it and find people to make even better models.
I'd love to try and contact some of the talented people in the modelling section but I want to show them a really awesome game first so it's worth their time working on it. I don't think it's at that point yet.
The end goal is to get this up on steam so I can make good use of steamworks.
So I'm really proud of this. Nothing special but never actually considered building in support for multiple resolutions so this was kind of an undertaking. The menus can also dynamically scale depending on the number of buttons. Well as long as there are 5 or less buttons.

If you make a game dev story clone, please keep the people on fire.
That's what everyone asks me about when I play game dev story: "Why are there people on fire?"

I'm hoping to make something very similar to Game Dev Story. Wasn't planning on leaving the whole fire thing in but maybe...

Goddayum son!
So I'm trying to understand how a proper game loop works. I think what I want to do is take a fixed time step, but honestly have no idea how to go about doing that.
Here's a small attempt. Would like to have some tips / pointers / advice on how to achieve fixed timesteps. I don't really think I understand the concept of them yet.

I really want to start working on my MMO project again. I've been working on it for years and it would seem like a huge waste to just abandon it, but my artist has pretty much lost interest and It's hard to find time to work on it. It just seems like a shame to abandon such a massive/successful project. I think I might try and port it to android or something which might gain some interest from my artist.

Get another artist who can keep to the project.
A while ago I started a tutorial series on making a rough 3D/2D rasteriser. These two videos are where I add the third dimension. The idea was to make everything from scratch (draw line, draw polygon and all translation and rotation functions) .
Now that we have a platform to draw stuff on, I'm thinking of showing how to add physics.

Why does everyone hate Delphi?
I love VCL (C++Builder is great), it's just that I don't like Pascal. Where I live, Delphi is forced onto high school students with little to no prior preparation, so I guess that played a role in me developing a dislike for it as well.
New progress on my parser:
Code to be parsed:
[lua]rawr = 4 * (2 + 3) * (10 * (1 + 50) );[/lua]
What the parser spits out:
PUSH_NUMBER 4
PUSH_NUMBER 2
PUSH_NUMBER 3
ADD -2
MUL -2
PUSH_NUMBER 10
PUSH_NUMBER 1
PUSH_NUMBER 50
ADD -2
MUL -2
MUL -2
SET rawr -2
and the value of "rawr" after everything is ran:
10200
-edit-
looks like i still have a lot left to do lol
updated the above example to show working code.
