hello all! i've been getting the hang of creating a responsive website in dreamweaver and after finishing my index page the next thing to do is to start on the other pages.
how do i create more fluid pages? is it as simple as file, new fluid grid layout?
i don't think i need any more style sheets and that's what is created when i make a new f.g.layout.
ps ima noob, this site is for uni and any help would be appreciated. thanks
Comic Sans, awful CSS, design elements taken from Facepunch , to name a few things (although your use of Comic Sans pretty much counts for 20 things).

Last I checked MySQL isn't a language, it's an extremely simple database.
SQL = Structured Query Language
MySQL:

MySQL is not an extremely simple database.

I know I copied facepunch and I said it a while ago when I posted it first time. I used "Comic Sans" Only because I couldn't find another font.MySQL I guess you are right, idk.

1. Do not use Dreamweaver. It's a bloat of a program that mostly gets in the way of your code.
2. Creating responsive websites is a matter of code AND of design. You need to think of how to arrange your content in such a way that it can be rearranged easily to fit all sorts of screens.
On the technical side, using media queries should be more than enough for making responsive websites. There's no need to call several stylesheets. Simply write your CSS and progressively overwrite for different screen sizes it using media queries. Some designers recommend starting with the mobile, most-stripped-down version of the site and work your way up.

while i agree with what you're saying i think people should just use whatever they write best in
better to just suggest alternatives rather than deal in absolutes
dreamweaver is really nice if you don't use the design view
code formatting, syntax highlighting, sftp & live php errors are quite nice

True. Right now I don't have a favorite program to work with. Brackets (and Adobe's version, Edge Code) do look promising, but they still lack in functionality. I still use it because got tired of n++ and live code preview is really nice.

Tried Sublime Text?
I use Sublime Text mostly, but typically use PhpStorm at work since it makes development quicker with automatic upload, possible error detection, etc.

I love the fact that both MySQL and MariaDB are named after Michael's daughters.

After being a long user of both, I've favored brackets c:
I've been toying around with Light Table, I think it's got promise, but still has a lot of ground to cover before it can be "production ready"

Apparently Maria is a seal in the eyes of Michael.

You made me wait 2min for this shitty network to load your post, then all it says is sorry.
At least it what somewhat fitting for making me wait :v:
I'm working on this for a while but never had that inspiration to finish up.
This time I start woking on it again and, well, what do you think ?

Always thought SQL was like PHP where it didn't have any background meaning.
Always thought SQL was like PHP where it didn't have any background meaning.
it's a backronym, hypertext preprocessor
used to be personal home page
php is a recursive backronym meaning "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor"
I use Sublime Text mostly, but typically use PhpStorm at work since it makes development quicker with automatic upload, possible error detection, etc.
I don't know what you mean with automatic upload but if I edit a file on my server with Sublime Text and do CTRL + S it uploads? :v:
php is a recursive backronym meaning "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor"
if there is one thing that annoys me is recursive aconyms
im pretty sure php was personal home page
im pretty sure php was personal home page
it used to, but was changed to mean "php: hypertext processor" with the release of php3

GNU's Not Unix
I recently discovered Python and Flask.
Boy this is flexible.
I've decided to make my first major project with it.
[editline]Edited:[/editline]
Well, it'll have a more major backend than the one that netted me £4k...
I made a website thing.

It probably wont survive for long on a free amazon ec2 instance, but oh well.
If the content is all stuffed up try refreshing. It's currently on an idle timer that means the necessary content will have to be retrieved again by the server.
Feel free to look at the stupid amount of code files, too:

Apparently you time traveled from the year 2001. Welcome! We have ASP.NET and have had it for 12 years!
gave a presentation at my local science fair comparing the performance of HTML5 DOM/Canvas/SVG and Flash -- was pretty fun. even got a paid internship offer for the Rhode Island Naval Undersea Warfare Center because of it!
