Is it supposed to be funny?
Is it supposed to be funny?
You don't want a webpage to swear at you?
Is it supposed to be funny?
:-( ok thats all i needed to delete all the files related to the project
:-( ok thats all i needed to delete all the files related to the project
Sorry, didn't mean to be a dick but I'd rather be blunt than lead you on.
Sorry, didn't mean to be a dick but I'd rather be blunt than lead you on.
it's okay, the image had really immature humor that was based only around being edgy, and blunt comments give me something to improve on i'm still going to try to build a site, though, but not based on the same idea. anyways, here's the design I was working on: it's a minimal design i created a grid system in CSS based on bootstrap, but all from scratch because I wanted to learn how to make it on my own. it's not shown at all here though. i really like less-css because i really only defined 3 colors in here: background, foreground, and primary. then I used less-css's mixins/functions to generate lighter and darker colors. this way I can generate several layouts with different colors and only change 3 lines.
Working on lots of little updates to spoonfedstyle.com right now. Feels like it's really starting to come together!
what is the general opinion of web development programs in here? thinking of google's web designer, adobe edge, adobe muse, etc, generally programs that do all the programming for you in there while still putting you in control of the layout and content.

I'm working on a site called "Photorealistic Gaming", it's is a site for sharing, rating and discussing images of computer graphics, animation, cgi, 3d modelling, rendered scenes etc. You can register directly with the site or can log in via Facebook connect. http://www.photorealisticgaming.com The idea for the site started here quite a while ago - http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1227070. I finally renewed my hosting for the domain and started on the idea on Friday night and got most of the core functionality working yesterday. I'm looking for comments, suggestions and ideas of what to change/add to the site so would welcome feedback. What can be done to improve the theme of the site. 2. What extra features can be added to make the site more appealing or stand out from the crowd. 3. What changes can be made to existing features to make them more usable or useful.
3. Also it seems (in my personal opinion) that things are too centered. Such as the content within the wells. Lastly, the badges beside the category and tags links should be on the other side. Good work.

Also, there are a couple validation errors with the HTML (ignore the warning) http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.photorealisticgaming.com&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0

I'd lower the contrast on the background so that the content stands out better.
I'd lower the contrast on the background so that the content stands out better.
Sounds like a sensible suggestion
Adding onto what RattSplat said: • Make the images fill their containers. That's what the users are interested in seeing, not all the text around the outside. • Make your Tags into a comma separated list, consider reducing font size. • Are the "Image:" labels really needed? • Make the caption more obvious, and the submission information less visible (it's not that important) In my opinion: Image > Title > Caption > Rating > Meta data (tags, category, submission information) [editline]13th January 2014[/editline] So your design should reflect that
Pro tip: dont use offensive terms to test, it might backfire. I almost sent a notification containing "fuck you" to all our clients' customers to test notifications. Good thing my colleague saw it.
Reminds me of an answer on SO where a dude had an alert saying "Shit cock" still in the code :v:
Jesus christ if the computer you do dev on doesn't have an SSD yet, get one. I feel like I'm having to wait for things to happen so much less and it's making me so much more productive. No more "okay I have to wait for a couple minutes for photoshop to open so I'm going to go dick around on the internet for a litt... oops it's 15 minutes later because I got distracted and now I have to context switch again"

No need for an ssd here :v:
