It will help a lot.
I also suggest getting this book. It describes common design patterns of desktop, web and mobile applications and comes in really nifty when you're trying to create a user interface.

It's way more about all of the conceptual behind the scenes stuff in design. It's also not JUST about design for screens, which makes it an interesting read. Does a really good job of putting basic design principles in contexts that you encounter regularly in your day to day life.

more work on the league client ~API~, first time i've used github properly. been publishing the front-end libraries into a repo. i redesigned the entire system from an ajax based that went client -> request php -> riot, to a client -> websocket server -> riot. has fixed loads of problems i had and ensures that i can hold a stable connection for the user without any authentication problems. currently supports logging into the LoL platform and the LoL chat service, allows changing the presence values (eventually will become server side) and chatting to other users (needs rewriting in) [t]http://puu.sh/7SNTW/82f869af8e.jpg[/t] client base which i need to get around fixing [t]http://puu.sh/7SO9K/ae63c47ca8.jpg[/t] the github shit https://github.com/Silentfood/poro-frontend

I have been working with Steam Web API But I am still not sure what to do with it. http://first-men-in-the-moon.com/profile.php?steamid=76561197982259188
Flagdog says he's in Germany, so I'd assume shipping would be reasonable.s
On Amazon, there's no shipping and handling fees for books in many countries, including mine, so that wouldn't be a problem. I just checked the price because I skimmed over it when I initially clicked your link yesterday. It's actually far more cheap than I expected, especially for a book like that. I might actually order it in the future, but right now, I'm saving up for a RubyMine license. Yeah, I know, it's a commercial IDE for something as silly as Ruby that'll cost me 107€. But I've used Vim and vim-rails before, and the sheer amount of nifty features that RubyMine provides over that already swell combination is coming in really, really handy for me. I'm still going to stick to Vim for most other languages as I used to. But for my money, those nifty features outweigh the high price that I'll have to stem.
That moment when you code an engine instead of a game, trying to ignore people on /r/gamedev, and you actually lose interest in that project because you didn't code the fucking game... I don't know if people read this, but people, when making a game, just make a crude prototype, you'll just hurt yourself by trying to reinvent the wheel. On a side note: What

I'm starting with a new employer on the 14th for an apprenticeship and the developer there writes in PHP (which I'm being forced to learn because of the industry, etc etc) for his applications using CodeIgniter. Should I bother learning other frameworks/languages after CodeInginter/PHP?
Should I bother learning other frameworks/languages after CodeInginter/PHP?
Yes. You should always be learning new things. Especially in the web world since web tech moves so fast.
A fellow student and friend of mine voiced the idea of making a project together. So I suggested we do a game with CS/HTML5 Canvas. We started two days ago and got this so far: http://theneikos.github.io/towerdefense/ He is still starting out so right now it's mostly my code, but currently I am teaching how to use git and CoffeeScript. It's pretty fun so far making this.
Backbone of a facepunch link shortener is done! It's a whole line of php and some .htaccess. sandbox.itslenny.de/fcpnchit/<threadid> Example: sandbox.itslenny.de/fcpnchit/1374457 Now for the frontend and more features.
If you are interested, Giant Bomb published a fairly informative article about 2048, 1024, and Threes. http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/meet-the-clones/1100-4891/ Also the comments aren't that cancerous unlike most places so there is some actual discussion going on in there.
Previously, I had my blog on a different layout and theme. Now it's inside my own layout and I love it. http://josm.co.uk/blog/
Why do you have to click on the titles to read them? Don't most blogs just allow you to read a shorter version of the blog post until you click on it?
Change your CV download from .docx to .pdf, might be a small detail but it's a bit more professional and cleaner.
It's not really a small detail, not everyone has Microsoft Office and docx doesn't always display correctly in other programs. PDF can be read by many programs and maintains a perfectly consistent design. It also stops other people from editing it (easily) so people won't copy your CV. Well, they could if they tried, but it'd be difficult to copy the exact template. Although you'd be surprised at how many recruiting agencies that are really terrible with computers and don't know how to download a pdf readers, so they ask for a doc file. I have a CV that's generated through an app, which only exports to pdf so I had use a converter for doc format, pretty much lost all it's template, looks shit but it's not my fault there are people in this world that somehow can't use computers in 2014

I may have to change that.
Change your CV download from .docx to .pdf, might be a small detail but it's a bit more professional and cleaner.
I don't know, I may just offer a .pdf version too.
I don't know, I may just offer a .pdf version too.
I don't think you understand
I don't think you understand
I don't really. I understand that pdf is "nicer" to use, but, .docx is just as easy to use for a CV.
It's a proprietary format though, only Microsoft Word will display it completely correctly, if someone is using OpenOffice, Pages or something else your CV might look like shit. PDF is consistent across every computer/PDF viewer

I don't think either of them intended to take the attention from Threes.
