I never had any issues with Socket and Node with Apache. What was up?
Node wasn't wanting to play nice and I wasn't using the express for Socket so when I was trying to connect Node was throwing errors at me. I switched to express and everything magically fixed itself.

Anyone know of a an VPS hosting provider with unlimited bandwidth?
Anyone know of a an VPS hosting provider with unlimited bandwidth?
I've been using Afterburst for a year or two without any problems. They have a permanent -25% discount on right now.

Realistically speaking, you're probably not going to hit your bandwidth cap unless you're streaming video, lots of sound, or your website is HUGELY popular. And if you somehow do, bandwidth is cheap.
Realistically speaking, you're probably not going to hit your bandwidth cap unless you're streaming video, lots of sound, or your website is HUGELY popular. And if you somehow do, bandwidth is cheap.
A service that receives no funding at all, and is not eligible for funding, means that the bandwidth cap has to either be insanely high and cheap, or non-existant. For a service with, say, several thousands hits per day, serving all kinds of content, a single gigabyte is just not gonna cut it. Besides, a lot of services in Europe get their deliveries of speeds in Fiber channels with no bandwidth limitations, so why should the customer?
But they will have... Which makes in the long run not worth
But not in the near future and they won't do it without a notice. So you can just use Digital Ocean (as they are quite cheap) and switch if it turns out they charge for bandwidth. Doubt it'll be expensive though.
lol i just fucked everything up goddammit i hate everything
There's no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth," just "as much bandwidth as you want until we notice you're using too much." Unmetered is more descriptive, but I usually prefer it when they tell you exactly how much bandwidth you're getting, because that gives you a leg to stand on if they pull the rug out from under you when you're still under the limit.

So why should a company not be able to serve the same?

Their bandwidth usage is limited by their data center, and their usage is limited by how much they want to pay. If you use too much bandwidth, it's not profitable to host you anymore. [editline]17th July 2014[/editline] Also, that's your download speed. Most ISPs, at least in America, have bandwidth caps as well. I mean, if they use the term "unlimited" then they're bound by law in our country to serve as such, unless otherwise noted. And it hasn't been otherwise noted, so I see no reason why other companies should do otherwise, but that's just me. Anyway, I ordered the cheapest from Afterburst, and I'll give it a few months of paid trial use, and see if they deliver.

If they paid for literally unlimited bandwidth they would go out of business. Afterburst isn't unlimited and doesn't claim to be; it's only unmetered i.e. "we won't charge you for bandwidth usage but there's a finite amount of it."
So, I'm being made to use classic ASP at work to build functionality into a shitty site that we aren't getting paid very much for. Not fun when you've been learning PHP since April this year and it's all you really "know".
A looks broken.
Yep it looks broken but still i think the lowered opacity is a better way to go.

But I'd like to know why that would be, so I can make a more informed decision. I do realize that Afterburst does not offer unlimited bandwidth, but their cheapest service is better than most services I could otherwise pay to get in "this area" (which is to say closer to Denmark). I know for a fact that a service such as Meebox would provide the same for more than triple the price, with a fixed bandwidth tag that isn't very high.
I'm sure people do, but my boss told me about http://toggl.com Does anyone else use it?
