I've been working on a Garry's Mod donation system with an online control panel, here are some screenshots. Homepage [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/GJPADMT.png[/IMG_THUMB] Panel: Servers tab [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/JkJfpQJ.png[/IMG_THUMB] Panel: Super cool message when an error happens [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/VmrLSTq.png[/IMG_THUMB] Registration Page [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/70A1HCG.png[/IMG_THUMB] Panel: Products tab [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/YefjrbN.png[/IMG_THUMB] Editing a server: [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/WKfn63d.png[/IMG_THUMB] Adding an action to a product: [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/8DNRUxr.png[/IMG_THUMB] Panel: Credit Pack tab [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/3YPggV1.png[/IMG_THUMB] It's all built using AngularJS. I've never finished a web app before. And it works! I'll post the actual donation page that it creates later
I made something similar in functionality like a year ago, not sure if it still works, and would occasionally hit a bug where it send 20 new notifications for a single message. Also, a bit of a resource hog, but I tried to cut down on that by doing a leader/follower setup where only one tab does the polling.
I also made something similar about 9 months ago, it's a 4chan style thread updater
Making a Wordpress theme for a client based on Bootstrap. My first Wordpress theme ever... Got a MacBook Pro from my first Web Dev employment, so it's also my first time developing on Mac and I enjoy working with it. Desktop: http://i.imgur.com/3M8gmCO.jpg Smaller screens: http://i.imgur.com/UqoCU7n.jpg Note: The white space at the top is from Wordpess logged in bar, it's just blank for some reason, so gotta fix that.
I also made something similar about 9 months ago, it's a 4chan style thread updater
We should make one that uses labpunch, since we can query the json much more often
...
Quite cool. In my experience it's better to speak less technical to your audience, for e.g. Most of them would have no idea what cloud-flare is. (Most of them are children after all)
I've been making an online bans database for people to look at. Just added max results and a search feature. I also send the data to gmod by using ?json=1. Thoughts on design?
I'm making a shoutbox/chatbox for my community because the public ones for mybb are shit. [vid]http://webmup.com/aMU3z/vid.webm[/vid] Here's what it current has: - Annoucement (in the back bar at the top) - Inline editing shouts and annoucement - Edited info in the date on the right (pencil icon) - Soft deleting, with the post content collapsed - Deleted time in the deleted icon on the left - Auto updating, and it only returns modified/new content - Idle detector, will stop auto updating after the page has had no mouse/input movement for 2 minutes - Uses mybb parsing so mycode works with it [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] oh and avatars will increase in size when the shout is bigger (as there is more room to take up)
Talking about shoutboxs, I'm really having difficulties with the design. I'm having a hard time telling the user what's fixed position and not. The whole chat is fixed, but having the whole chat inside a card looks terrible. Any ideas? (Right now only intractable elements with position sticky or fixed uses card design) OLD / NEW [t]http://imgur.com/JNfqYjv.png[/t][t]http://imgur.com/ti2vDGk.png[/t] [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Should probably mention the old design don't have a user panel, and the new design does not yet have a login form.
any heads up on this popup thingy? seems unprofessional to me but seems alright at the same time [t]http://i.gyazo.com/fd80e2d8c37570b3c3ff9218e812864b.png[/t]

"Email so we can message you back", just make it "Your email" and "Your message". Why not make the contact form in the footer, why make a popup for it? Pop ups are usually blocked and generally annoying.

Also I'm pretty sure it's E-Mail, correct me if I'm wrong

Why does the blue button start with a capital letter but the red doesn't?
Why does the blue button start with a capital letter but the red doesn't?
oh no!!1 le fixed [t]http://i.gyazo.com/334fcdafc6b519c02ae23a9ece0ce0ed.png[/t] also made spacing between button and textbox higher
I'm currently starting a review website where anyone can review anything, anytime and anywhere. But I don't know whether to focus this towards games (the press at the minute isn't favoured). Do you think this is an ideal time to make a public review site for games?

Im going to work on improving the design when I have more inspiration but.... My first AngularJS site! Really pleased with how it worked out. The content in places is a little off, so excuse that. Thoughts? http://thegloriouspcmasterrace.com/home

Can anyone tell me whether it's a noob pathetic thing to do to use a bootstrap theme and run my site off that? I just suck with design. I know CSS just shit with it. Is it dumb to run an entire site off it, like a review site?
It's not pathetic at all, but try to at least customize it with colors etc. to make it yours and not just rely on the default styles.
Yeah of course! I'd change everything about it. But I'd just use it as if it were mine. It's not lazy, no?
Yeah of course! I'd change everything about it. But I'd just use it as if it were mine. It's not lazy, no?
Why would it be? Last I checked, stuff like this was made to make front-end life easier. Use it if you like it, but there's also other things such as Foundation and Semantic. Maybe you like one of them more than Bootstrap, regardless what you do, good luck!
Thanks man! I just don't know whether it's gonna be appropriate to use for a sort of review site. [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Would bootstrap be necessary for a blog which will hold reviews? Would these have rating buttons/comments section but more of a public thing so it's not a tumblr-esque thing. An actual site. [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] So I basically want something: That can have reviews Comments A rating system And a login system for reviewers/commenters. Are there themes for that? [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Everything is temp on this one including the name Puushthrough.co.uk But, that design would be ideal but I don't have a clue how Id do reviews on it.

It doesn't have a specific purpose for anything, so if you can use it in your project, do it. also, it's kinda funny that you're the only guy from that web review project that thought about coming to the Web Development subforum for help for it :v:
svg filters on html are amazing: you can like set a color (black in this case) when run through a filter and turn transparent [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] i have it turn off when you hover over blocks because it can be costly when it repaints (doesn't repaint when it's still) [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] also svg mask border is why its zigzaggy, that is amazing as well
I'm currently working on a website as a hobby, and I've created a div (header class) that holds a bunch of items that will link to other areas of the website. As it stands, the menu items are separate text items that act as links. The only issue is I'm having trouble centering them when they are displayed inline. I tried setting the text-align to center in the css document, but it doesn't seem to want to work. It does work with block display though. Does anyone know a resource I can use to figure this out?

Either way, putting display:inline; on the child elements inside the div, and text-align:center; on the div, you should get what you are looking for. I didn't really think to put it in the parent div.

The reason this is happening is because the paragraph is already centered inside its element size, as the element size depends on the amount of characters and the font-size/font-weight. (In fact, it takes up 100% of its element width) Here's what I mean: (The blue background is the highlighted elements' size. Since you're on Chrome, pull up the Dev Console with F12 and review it all)
