In case you haven't seen it yet, its a really cool talk.
So I've been working on fixing my login form. This is what it looked before (linked because it's almost a shock image) and this is what it looks like now:

That actually looks quite nice
I'd love some feedback on this:

specially the "order now" and popup menu from clicking an item in the "browse" category
Just released that optimization testing stuff I was working on as a gem (it's only no github right now, not rubygems yet)
https://github.com/arehberg/opawesome
First time releasing a gem, and some of the code isn't top notch but it works and I wanted to start being able to pull it in to my other projects as a gem, so there it is!
How do you make a sidebar in HTML5? I tried to make one by floating it to the left and right but for some reason it won't turn itself into a sidebar.
I bought this wonderful URL for the website I made for a small game
http://makebabi.es
Started working on a portfolio website as well finally.
https://pingaling.eu/up/port/
I'm pretty proud of the sidebar so far. It's the first time I actually am designing something myself and any feedback would be appreciated!
Phew, just finished reading through this thread. Was wondering, do any of you rubyists go the route of VM->Linux for dev purposes? If so, what are you using? Virtualbox seems to have some horrible performance issues, and I am stuck!
Working on an RSS Feed Reader/Manager to replace Google Reader.

If you have Chrome, install the app and rate it!

Please give me some feedback on it all. I'll keep updating it all as I go.

You could check out Vagrant (http://www.vagrantup.com/). I have used it for my Rails development.

Order Now
I like the input styles, but they are pretty hard to see. Maybe add a soft background color and border to the form, and it will help show off those inputs and textarea.
Browse
I would move the slider down as a sidebar, and add a few other browse functions as drop downs along with the slider. Like color, type (stucco, brick, wood, etc.), and others. The slider seems very forced, and it seems like you thought it was really cool and you are intensifying it too much.
As for the popups for each of the houses, it is very hard to see the floor plans. The size of the popup is good, but maybe have an expand image on hover for the floor plans. Or maybe another popup that only appears on hover of the floor plans. Kind of like a tooltip of sorts that shows above the image when your mouse is over the original image, and disappears when the mouse moves off. You can right click->view image, and see a much higher resolution of the floor plans, and you should really show that off. The top div of the pop up is perfect I think.
This is all my opinion, and you may choose to do what you please. Just wanted to put in my two cents!
Designing a website for my univercity's faculty, would like some C&C on element placement and other. It seems to me that the website is too plain and boring, but I don't know what to do.

Sorry for communist lingo.
I'm a lot happier with this design.

What do you think?
Are you running a GUI on the VM?
Yeah, normally I would just create a linux partition and be done with it; but the flexibility of VMs is more appealing. I was using 12.04 LTS Ubuntu distro, perhaps that's part of the problem?

First off, thanks for the feedback :)
I'm properly gonna redo the whole order now site, as it's pretty bland.
A problem with a side panel would be the tiny space you have to drag the slider. Even though you can use the arrow keys, it's not a good user experience to have over 10 000 pixels in a 200 pixel area.
I'll think about something for the floor plans.
Thanks gain. :)

I second this. I've only just started to play around with it and haven't used it on any real projects yet, but I can definitely see myself using it on the next project I start up.
Running Ubloatu as a server unless you are using their minimal cmdline only distro is probably a bad idea.
Right, I am not trying to run a server, I am trying to escape Windows 7 while working with ruby/rails, without having to leave it entirely. I am not a fan of jumping back and forth between partitions either.

I quite like Ubuntu Server with the minimal vm install: http://erratasec.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/ubuntu-low-mem-install-for-vms.html
Consumes 51MB ram and has access to apt-get and all the Ubuntu goodies if you pick "Basic Ubuntu Server". Takes <2GB of disk space.
redid my wip domain homepage.

never been a fan of flashy shit like that unless it's something ridiculously well done
I think the home button needs to not have that gap above it when it bounces down.

And on an unrelated note, JRuby is fucking cool
