After seeing MarcoPixels latest creation I got into the mood to make a new tab page similar to Google Now with basic shit like time and hourly weather data.

Anyone have some ideas for other cards I could make? I imagine calender events and the like would be useful but other than that I'm clueless.
Something like a traffic feed? Also, (assuming it's meant for desktop) maybe play a bit with horizontal space.

If you don't mind having some feedback I think this would look much better with another font and font size.

This reminds me of iGoogle, a real shame that it got canceled. It is a bit... ugly in my opinion, but having widgets with the latest stuff from the websites you want right at start up sounds good to me.
The only problem I see is the fact that every service out there wants to expose less and less API. I read an article somewhere which was really interesting. It talked about how Facebook started a trend where each 'large' service wants to do everything. Like for example, Twitter started with just text. Now you can also send images and videos over it.

I've seen roboto before and it looks great but I was hoping to try and not just follow the font trend going on ( for similar designs ). But hey, if it looks good then why not.
EDIT:
Tried it out with roboto-light. Looks great in the weather widget but the other two boxes remind me of how bad chrome is with font rendering. I'll probably replace them with like a fancy looking clock or something though..

Roboto is the official android theme font though. You might want to check out Lato and Source Sans Pro for alternatives
Finally fucking finished with this shitty game. Can't wait to start doing normal stuff again. That music is haunting me and I see those graphics when I close my eye.
30MB so might take a while to load. Some things are not enabled in this webversion such as the fullscreen toggle. Also works on just chrome.

also, check out starbound, it's the networking module of the whole thing

Try rendering the text with Cufon?
My new online portfolio, almost finished. Just ironing out coding errors and adding a bit more content.

In my personal opinion, I don't think it is *terrible* in the grand scheme of things, but it could use improvement in a few areas.
The reduced opacity elements (recent work, learn about me, etc) do not look good on top of the background, they end up blending in and the carbon fiber texture looks terrible showing through. The reduced opacity is a good idea if you can put them on a solid background, ideally a light one.
Also, you may've went a little overboard on the text shadow -- if you went for a parent container with a [solid] background, this would both fix the opacity issue and reduce the need for such a large amount of shadow on the text to make it readable. Though, this could also be solved by using a different background. (Check this out if you are looking for another background.)
Oh, and it may be in your best interest to make your logo clickable.

I think it'd look much better with a different background texture ( or none at all ). The one your currently using looks terrible in my opinion.

This is a Chrome font rendering bug on Windows. Here's a fix I found which involves prioritizing SVG fonts to be used.
Here's some proof that it actually does work: http://samuelmaddock.github.io/glua-docs/

Which font? I see at least three.
Which font? I see at least three.
"One of these things, is not like the other"
It's the "I make websites" font
"One of these things, is not like the other"

And yet my point stands that there are about four different fonts. I don't particularly appreciate the condescension when in my opinion it is worse to have four disparate fonts on the same page than it is to have any one bad font.
First off, I'm not sure if you should be using that many fonts anyway. Secondly, how the fuck is he supposed to tell you exactly what the font name is if he doesn't know the font? And lastly, it's the largest fucking thing on the page, and it says "I make websites"!
I wasn't asking for a font name, I simply wanted to know which of the typefaces he was referring to, and he responded with the like, but for some reason he responded in a patronizing manner which struck me as unbecoming. I really don't care, and he has every right to respond however he wants, but I thought I would defend myself by stating what you just stated, namely that I wasn't sure if "you should be using that many fonts anyway." IMO the big font wouldn't look bad if it were only one of two fonts on the page; rate boxes if you disagree.
