I'm delighted to announce that the ISS has a faster internet connection than my house.
Someone in here re-imagined the tab page on chrome a while ago, here's my attempt.

The images randomize every-time depending on the weather (based on your location) - I might release it when I'm done if anyone is interested.

Pretty good but the camera looks like it's upside down. Also, what are the temperatures next to the main one? I don't think it's very clear.

Thanks, I'll fix the icon - I think the bottom of it makes it look a bit odd now that you've mentioned it. I'll make the temperatures to the right more clear, they represent the weekly forecast.

I would guess they are the temperature of upcoming days but still a short label would be nice.
Yesplease.

I created a div with overflow:hidden; and then used -webkit-filter: blur(5px); on a div with a background-image. I'm having trouble getting this to work across all browsers though.

I just hope you realize you're working with a (soon-to-be) dead technology.

Well I just like Visual Studio so that's okay I guess.

Userstyle, more likely. I don't think it does anything but a restyle.
EDIT: Sorry, it appears it also does at some extra functionality.

Someone released a plugin a while back called "HackerNew" that I have been using and am quite happy with.

The funny thing is, when I loaded Hacker News to look I didn't see it. But that is part of the HackerNew plugin; it allows you to hide certain stories (by users, domain, topic, etc).
