It's funny that now that we finally have proper browser support for gradients and rounded corners the style has changed.

It still looks really good if it's done well. It's just "easy" to do, so there's tons of bad web 2.0 looking stuff out there.

Trying out Layervault Delivery: https://delivery.layervault.com/bzn83rnp (it's awesome)
I like but my eye wants to see the radio buttons flush left with the form fields. Does the email field change to a phone field when they change the radio button that's selected?

If they like what you've done for them so far you should so try to convince them that they need a new logo after this project goes live.
Does anybody here have any experience with tutsplus (https://tutsplus.com)?
I've looked at some previews of courses / tutorials and they look promising to me. The monthly fee isn't an issue for me, I'm just wondering if their courses are indeed of good quality as they state they are. New courses also seem to be added frequently so I do have the impression that their courses are well documented and not outdated.
I did some courses on Codacademy but the only flaw imo is that you learn a limit amount of things in their courses, however the things you do learn are fairly well explained.

Having checked out some premium tutorials before, they're up to date, but not very documented in terms of why things work. The tutorials were basically "do this, do that exactly" without explaining things. This still carries over, judging by the previews. I recall seeing someone here host a TutsPlus premium backdoor somewhere in General Discussion, but I don't think it works anymore. I'd be surprised if it did to begin with.
Tuts plus doesn't go in to the theory behind why they are doing things a specific way very often from my experience. As Stonecycle said, it's a lot of "Do this do that then do this then you're done, yay you made this thing!" That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think it's the most valuable instruction you can find online. It can definitely show you some things to explore more yourself though.
Playing with CSS, I added a CSS rule that causes my browsers to freeze, take 100% cpu usage of both my cores, cause windows to freak, and have it try to disable aero. Note to self: Don't use that rule.

Agreed. I think if designed right, it can look very good.
On the subject of tutsplus, I forgot to mention I wrote this a while ago:

Yes, yes, this'll do...
Now turn it into a browser extension that converts all text in all pages.

There's quite a few fuck ups on the CSS on the homepage. All links are set as titles which is why that link looks like the title :v: .
Also, teh advert needs to be moved down quite a bit. I sort of ripped the design of from the old garrysmod site but the code is alllll mine.
I have put a link to Gary's blog in the about page for credit for the design and will do on every page. As you can see the MyBB theme needs a little more work but I like how it's looking so far.
I shift all the vowels by one, so after inputting the output 5 times, you get the original input.

I bought a 1 month membership on tutsplus to try it out today, and after following mostly Web Design courses I already learned some neat things that I didn't know. I also don't have the feeling of "do this do that and hurray you made something". Everything was explained step by step and at a good pace.
Most of the Web Design courses are made by the same person though, so I don't know if it's going to be like that for every subject.

What a worthwhile page king.
A friend of mine thought it was a good idea to have a random game button for steam, and so did I, so I made one!
http://vps.jmazouri.com/asp/
I took my old humble bundle counter and collected them into one page, as well.

So the Webflow beta is out, and I am very impressed at the moment! My testing has been very limited but it seems to produce very clean code, I think this is definitely the path that web markup development will take in the future and I am on board for sure!
That's amazing, literally.

Saw the video/preview a few weeks ago - it's simply amazing considering the quality of the code produced. Will have to experiment to see if I can make it generate some 'dodgy' code :)

nonetheless if it works like they say it works, I'll probably be using it a lot. Kinda like a warm-up in anticipation for Macaw to arrive.
