Not bad, you did however forget some important stuff like charset though :v:

though I can't seem to find a way to make the images cycle or make one of the nav buttons disappear when you're at the first or the last image. Because if you click it this happens:

We should force him to make it work in IE6 and watch him cry.
This looks much better than the jQuery mobile version you had.
The blue on the posts looks a little saturated, IMO it seems too much like if you had selected it. Either a light gray or lighter blue might look more appropriate.
EDIT: By this, if you didn't catch it, I mean the name + date etc.
Aside from that, looks great. Any idea when it'll be out? (Also, is it web hosted or will it be an application?)
How's this? Left is old, right is new. I should probably change the text colour of the buttons on the nav as well I guess. :v:

I'd love to make an app but I don't have the setup for publishing to iOS so it'll be web hosted for the foreseeable future.
I'm not sure about when I'll make this available because it's not going to be fully functional until Garry's new "Labpunch" API is. The problem is that right now the API is limited to only viewing threads and I have no idea when Garry plans to work on it more. I'll be keeping this up to date with the API when it does update though.

Looks a lot better. Aside from that, can't wait to see (and use) the finished product. Good luck aye!

So the company I used to work for (elli) and the company I work for now (favery) are merging and becoming one company. The whole team is going to mainly focus on elli for now, but favery will be kept running on autopilot in the background until we find more opportunity for it (elli has had a lot more success, so it makes sense to shift focus to that more). I'm super stoked except for elli being on Magento. These two jobs have had the best bosses I've ever worked for, and now I get to work for them both at the same time!
There's a lot of cool ideas we want to explore for elli that I'm worried are going to be hard to do or take way too long to do on Magento, so my goal for this next year is to show everyone how janky Magento is and get the go ahead to build fresh. I tried to push that idea last year when I was still working for elli, but we didn't have the money to spend on the dev time at that point. Really stoked right now though because we just got out of a meeting where we spent about 30 minutes talking about things that Magento is getting in our way with, and my current boss at Favery seems to be all for ditching Magento because she's seen how fast I work with Rails (we took favery from a pinterest clone to an ecommerce website in two weeks when I first started working on it) and I think she really gets the business benefit of having a platform that we have total control/flexibility with.
Cross your fingers for me!
Hey guys, I'm working on a new project and I'd like to gather some information to figure out what exactly is the best way to approach the problem.
Would you be so kind as to fill out this form? https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1fhlfRcnvW7bi4WyWQfSZnNCtkgujO80dr9kKPedWLz8/viewform
More info about the project is coming soon, and if you provide your email address at the end of the form you'll get a newsletter once there's more to know about it.

The company I work for use magento for our online shop.. its pretty shit.
At least it's not Joomla, right? :v:
talking about joomla, I've used it a couple of times and it's awful, what's a good CMS? In my job we're pushing to get a new site done next year so I'm looking at all options

I'm working on a PHP-based CMS at the moment. Planning to make it Open-Source when stable and all the basic functionality is there.
[editline]21. December 2013[/editline]
I'm doing it to learn PHP. Not trying to reinvent the wheel.
Also, i heard Laravel is good.

Checkout drupal and wordpress.
And take a look at the new comer Ghost, it uses markdown, a beautiful dashboard, open source and built on Node.js. You can install it on your server or you can pay them.
The XiinEngine https://github.com/GreenYoshi/xiinengine-legacy. Not popularly used, I know the guy who made it.
Examples include http://radionintendo.com/, it's extremely lightweight and customization to every degree.
I enjoyed working with Wordpress, I just wish it wasn't so restrained by its "blog-oriented" purpose. I'm gonna check out Drupal.
[editline]21st December 2013[/editline]
Also I'm gonna have a dev working with me and considering the terrible level of education in this country, most web developers know nothing beyond Joomla/Wordpress
:(

Some people make space ships out of wordpress, which is kind of annoying.
Speaking as someone who had to make several WP based spaceships for work, it's not all that blog enforced (other than using bloggy words for all the functions.)
That said, I keep away from PHP outside of contractual obligations so I might be missing the true light of magical CMSes.

The other website the company owns is joomla.. you put products out of stock and you can still buy them. Quality!
I want to become an artist and make artwork using HTML and CSS, possibly SVG when needed and use that as my ''edge'' :P
Making artworks that can give that look or feel that they came from a browser, or look screenshotted..
so here is a wallpaper I made from a website as an example :D

That looks like something you could do in 5 minutes in Photoshop.
What you're talking about is commonly referred as "net-art", and talking about net-art, here's a really old and really good example of a net-art site
spent all day working on this

it's a completely standalone music player (I even parse the mp3s myself to get the id3 tags)
the only thing I have left to add is volume control, which shouldn't be too hard
I once made a small PHP script which basically grabbed a playlist from jamendo's top 50(or 100, not sure) tracks based on genre tags, if you plan to release what you're doing, would be nice if you could add an option like that.
Made this for a community as a timer-before-movie, which I thought it'd be useful on Gmod's Cinema gamemode (giving you something to stare at before it starts).
It's more eye-candy than useful.
You can change parameters, like the title and the countdown, and it'll get updated in real-time via AJAX. It has one or two bugs, and has room for things I would've liked to add (like music or videos from youtube, announcements...). Don't know if I should scrap it or just open-source it and keep working on it...

Hey everyone, I've been working on a project recently because of a problem I saw with college: I couldn't download torrents.
So, I designed this website in order to help people who otherwise couldn't torrent by downloading the torrent to an external server and serving them the files, like a seedbox except more user friendly.
I just finished the most vital parts of the website and am looking for a couple of people to play around and give me suggestions and tell me if there are any bugs. When you register, you'll be given 1GB of credit to download with.
Basically, you select "New Download", upload your torrent file, and it will download it for you. After it's done, just go to the torrent menu and click download to download your files from the webserver.
You should get some fantastic download speeds based on the speed of the torrent, since the site is hosted on a gigabit connection in a datacenter.
Here's some pictures of the application:

If you are interested in beta testing this, PM me. The first 5 people to PM me will get an invite code. Depending on how things go, I'll invite some more.
For people who get invites, they can register at http://www.hurricanetorrents.com/
Thanks!

I'm not a lawyer but I think you're going to get some major legal issues with this.
Maybe at least encrypt all the data serverside and give the private key to the user so that the actual movie is only present user side or something.

the server exists to torrent and then serve the data
he can't not do this illegally
keeping it private and small is the only real way to avoid legal issues with this sort of thing, i wrote something similar for my parents when i moved out of home
