really nice design, but i think the background image with tf2, minecraft etc doesn't really fit, i think it would look much more professional and nice without the image all together a bit of edge definition with the regular grey textured background would look pretty nice
Thanks Antid2, I agree with the background image. Their man focus is on those two games though, however I'll play around with it!
I was bored of coding and did some CSS styling. How it looks now ?
I was bored of coding and did some CSS styling. How it looks now ?
That is looking great, i love the black square-y background
the elements need aligning better, looks quite nice though. :)

Also, little suggestions, for the add products page as well as the register page, i would try to figure a way to style or arrange the text boxes a bit differently, when i looked at it, it kind of just hurt my eyes to see a big long list of text and text boxes all squished together in a single column. Other than that, it's really nice! great work man
I'll try giving some life back to this thread. Here's a snippet form an upcoming project.
a CMS...maybe?
was I only one one that read that in zoidbergs voice?
[thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3787621/clients.png[/thumb] New client area, any suggestions?
looks really nice, but don't use whmcs
looks really nice, but don't use whmcs
What do you recommend for billing?
just roll your own
just roll your own
Anything specifically wrong with whmcs? I've been using it for two years now and haven't had any major issues with it.
Anything specifically wrong with whmcs? I've been using it for two years now and haven't had any major issues with it.
not hipster enough
just roll your own
„NIH syndrome?“ – Charlie Somerville, 2012.
„NIH syndrome?“ – Charlie Somerville, 2012.
90% of the time, you'll spend more time battling whatever off the shelf products you buy. If it's core to your business, write it yourself.
90% of the time, you'll spend more time battling whatever off the shelf products you buy. If it's core to your business, write it yourself.
I kind of agree with this. Sometimes it's just easier to build your own than to learn how to use and customize another system to your needs. Not saying it's always that way, in some cases it is easier to use something already made.
I always said that Turb, but was always ridiculed for saying that in this forum.
[thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3787621/clients.png[/thumb] New client area, any suggestions?
Looks really nice, just one little thing: that should be in the center underneath or something, looks odd where that text currently is.
Anything specifically wrong with whmcs? I've been using it for two years now and haven't had any major issues with it.
As another long-term user of WHMCS I agree that there's really nothing wrong with it. However; it is slow, the template system is awful and it seems pretty inflexible when it comes to a few things. It does do the job but it could easily be improved.
I'd use RoR if it wasn't so easy to find an Apache box w/ PHP charging $5 every 6 months *cough* edit: charging* lol
Anything specifically wrong with whmcs? I've been using it for two years now and haven't had any major issues with it.
The ticket system on WHMCS is awful. Everything else is okay though. You can't sort by priority easily, it's difficult to tell how long a ticket has been opened for since all it shows is last reply time, there is no SLA system in place for tickets that will mark them as overdue after x hours have passed, etc. It may not seem like a big deal - but it is when you start getting hundreds of tickets a day and get up to 12,000 tickets answered within five months.
Why not edit the system yourself and implement those features yourself? Unless the code is so terrible it's impossible...
