The website bounces when the slideshow changes slide, also you should add some padding on the bottom with your copyright info, it looks bad.

Fixed the bouncing, still working on footer not sure if I should make a sitemap. What kind of pattern would you guys suggest?
How bad it feels when you discover that the SVG spritesheet you've been working on weighs 18KB, 9KB more than what it would weigh if it were a PNG.
And how good it feels when you discover that when run through gzip, your spritesheet weighs slightly half of the gzipped PNG's weight. Owned ya, PNG.

How does that work? Not being a dick, legitimately curious. One of the projects I'm working on I had to put on hold for a while because of something image size related.
You can set up your server to send your content compressed as gzip. All browsers support it.

Oh, thanks for the reply. I probably should have specified what I was referring to though; how does a gzipped svg have a lighter weight than a gzipped png, if the non-gzipped svg is larger than the non-gzipped png?

One reason is because PNG is already compressed as it is, so compressing it once more won't produce any good results, and secondarily I believe it's because SVG, being a normal text format, uses a more restricted set of values which gzip is better at compressing.
Ah, awesome to know. My thanks to the both of you!

I used to be in first for every other threads :v: So I just stopped posting unless i have something that im working on. (which is nothing) :(
There's more repetition in an SVG.
What do you guys usually use to create icons? Adobe Illustrator? I've been using Inkscape, but I think I might need an upgrade.

remember the discussion we had about not shoving patterns in everywhere
the white tile pattern in the background of your content areas seems random and out of place

I do them in Photoshop, then bring them over to Illustrator.
Alright, I think my website is ready for some user testing. So, feel free to visit

Take a look around. You can order stuff, just don't pay for them.
I've limited the current products because there's still a lot of discussion with the distributors and registering the business.
Seeing as it is a Magento store, I'd love it if KmartSqrl could possibly discuss with me the finer details. :v:
All your comments are much appreciated.
Oh yeah, and the links under "DiceLife's Pick" don't work.
It's not my work, but I've just found the best site I've ever seen in my life.
Why have 1 nav bar when you can have 4? http://www.oakmerepark.co.uk/

I'm actually more surprised that, of the top set of pictures, 2 are links to themselves, one is a proper image and another 2 link to golfshop247.co.uk.

What do you want to know? I'm not an expert by any means, but I've picked up quite a bit over the last couple months.

Every single button on that site is a separate Flash object.

Would 600 MB of memory usage be considered normal? I'm running it on Nginx.

I didn't even notice that. This website just gets even better, hahaha.

I don't do our server admin for this project, but that honestly wouldn't surprise me. Magento is definitely not the fastest or most efficient piece of software.

Yeah, I've found that out the hard way.
Yeah, I've found that out the hard way.
I honestly wouldn't use magento for another project unless I HAD to and I was going to be paid a LOT of money.
I've already invested a lot of time and money into Magento. Going with Magento was just an uneducated guess that didn't turn out quite right.
I might've gone with Opencart after this experience. But I feel I'd better just bite the bullet right now and stick with it.
It's not like I completely regret my decision of going with Magento, it does a lot of things right, but I feel there are better alternatives on the market right now.

How about the six iframes that are used?

Ew... I have to say my favourite part is text-align: center;

I totally get that, not saying you should switch now with the time you've invested already. Just speaking from a developer standpoint. Magento works, but I'd definitely rather not work with Magento haha. My negative experience is also compounded by the fact that the initial build of this project was done by an indian development team who very obviously glazed over the grander scale architecture for the development of this and just spaghetti coded their way to feature complete.
I'm working on a Joomla website and I couldn't find any dropdown menu modules that looked like I wanted them to so I decided to code my own using a custom html module.
I was wondering if there was a way to dynamically load HTML code from one file into the site because the way the custom HTML module works is you get a little box where you can write code. Since that isn't practical and it gets annoying having to constantly paste code to Notepad++ and back to Joomla, I need a way to just pull the code from a file on my server.
Hey guys,
How do you feel about this design?

For "The Secret World" game, meant to be modeled after a guide website.
Navigation consists of the icons in the top left, they are weapons used for the type of guide in that section. (They look better at a higher resolution, the outline makes them look kinda odd)
Side Note: not too happy about the header's logo, I know that's more than likely a problem right there.
EDIT: OCD is killing me, here is the better resolution of 2 icons and
