maybe it's the line spacing. But instead of latin, you should try posting some real stuff.

wow this site is sweet
I'm not really digging the titles font. You should also try to do something a little more elaborate with the company's logo (If it's a work for an actual company I know how sometimes they get bitchy about keeping an ugly logo/ugly font/ugly color scheme) And the titles and text are readable, I'd just prefer something that makes more contrast, recognizable at a glance.
really? i know this is generic "MY WORK IS PERFECT" defense posting but me and my mate can read it fine
i wanted to have sort of "subtle" text without going so far that it just fades into the background and you have to CTRL+A to see what you're looking at
more opinions would be helpful
I feel like if the text was a little bit darker it would be easier to read. Even if you keep it the same color just slightly darker.
Been working on a site for a magazine my roomates publish locally, i've got the basic layout finished for now, everything look ok?

I'm getting started on a server in Python, for learning purposes.

Right now it only sends back the headers. I'll work on header parsing next.
BTW - to the people who didn't think my systems were used by the US Navy - they are used by:
US Navy,
NASA,
Scottish gov.
Australian gov.
EA
and more.

Two weeks from now I have another meeting with a US DoD rep, I'll ask her about your system :)

Go for it - Also ask her what percentage of security systems employed by the US Navy she knows info about off the top of her head (or has even heard of). I proved that they use it anyway so why are you still making out as if they don't?
Also did you try and probe one of my systems on 24th September? I have noticed a flood of garbage entering an api originating from a Portugese IP. I know probs wasn't you but if it was id like to know.
so I was thinking of making a website for games made with HTML 5, it'll help me get to know the "programming" side of it as well as teaching me how to do some serverside stuff to make uploading games and such easier - so I started a design, thought I'd post it to ask if I'm going in the right direction or not
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/Enj7iJ.png[/t]
the only languages I know currently are HTML and CSS so I don't have the faintest idea of how I'm going to do this, but it'll be a decent learning experience I assume

Because your router clearly couldn't have any more of it.

LOL - email cssmayo and ask for a list of the 4 guys who made that theme. You will see that I am more than within my rights to remove the link (which isn't the authors URL - just the people who commissioned it) from the footer. Please lets end this argument before it turns into a 4 page long shit storm. :)

We've been there and done that - you can't keep saying that after I have proved it. And stolen - hmmm, its partly my fucking work so jog on. I had this down as one of the more mature forums, clearly I was wrong.

i don't think anyone is questioning whether or not you're legally allowed to remove it
it's more the fact that you're trying to be a professional web developer and you're stealing other people's work and hosting it on your own website
i would sort of expect a web developer to make his own website?
Jesus - do I have to spell it out. I was one of the 4 developers and designers that made that theme for CSS Mayo. Email them and find out - so stop accusing me of things, I am no longer accepting web design jobs anyway. I no longer trade under that brand either.
oh my bad
could have just mentioned that you were the original author

I apologize if I wasn't clear - I thought "ask them who the authors are" and "hmmm, its partly my fucking work so jog on" would suffice.

Your opinion. The portfolio is the first thing your potential client is going to see, so putting more effort in to it will in result make you more hireable.
Sure, they can come to this conclusion after looking at your showcase of work, but all I'm saying is that the design for the actual portfolio is important, and I think what you've made is very dull in that sense, even if your aim is simplicity.
After all, the time a web designer will put into winning over a new client often has a direct relationship to the amount of time he’ll put into that client’s projects, and this is extremely important if you want to get hired.
Anyway, this is just my point of view, I apologise if my somewhat meagre feedback insulted you in any way, I was just giving my two cents.

Sure, but you clearly aren't seeing things the right way from my (and probably other people's too) point of view.
