Anyone know of a good font smoother for windows ;_;
Like this? http://drwatson.nobody.jp/gdi++/index-en.html or https://code.google.com/p/ezgdi/ or https://code.google.com/p/gdipp/ Depends on your system as to what one will work, I found gdipp to work the best for me.
im having so much trouble coming up with a design in photoshop :/ do you guys do anything specific to get inspiration, like go to the bathroom or a happy place or some stupid shit like that?
this might sound stupid...but you know those little color swatch preview cards you get at like home depot? to preview what the paint is...well they also have bigger pieces with like 9 different shades of the same color, i go and grab like 20 of those of different colors, and usually, something will pop into my head as to make the colors go well together, then the layout and things just stem from that..

I always get random images in my head of really good website designs when I'm just about to go to sleep... Is that normal? [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Unfortunately I never remember them afterwards :(
I got a Macbook Air (the bigger one) as a work computer few months ago. The very first day I got pissed at OSX so bad I installed Arch Linux on it immediately. :v: Love the trackpad, hate the keyboard. Wouldn't buy one myself. Not really worth it.
I kind of love everything about the Mac. The placement of the command button is so more ergonomically designed opposed to the control button that I just can't go back to a PC keyboard. I've used a Windows computer for 16 years of my life, and a Mac for 2 years. From a web developer's perspective, and all I've used my Mac for is web development, it just feels so much better; from the terminal to all the tools available out there designed for a Unix system. There are a lot of things that feel backwards with OSX but they have never made me turn away from it.
I've started always carrying a pen and a small pocket notebook with me so I never miss random fleeting ideas.
My iPhone serves that purpose for me.
I like having something physical that's dedicated to it because I have a tendency to forget notes that I've done in my phone.
Worked on a blog theme redesign, nearly done. Need to improve the twitter area now. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/s7PzA.png[/thumb]
After 15 minutes of programming with a Mac keyboard my hands hurt and I just want it to end.
I think it's a personal thing, or maybe you're using the keyboard wrong. For me typing on a mac keyboard is pretty good.
Just finished my portfolio that I've been working on for a few months. The hardest part was learning PHP to make it all work off of a database. I knew ColdFusion before I started learning PHP (Which is a LOT different and I now understand why like nobody uses CF anymore), and I absolutely love PHP now. It's so much easier and shit just works, no fucking around trying to find out where ColdFusion decided it wants a " instead of a ' in a line of code that worked fine one week and broke another. Check it out here. What do you guys think?
That looks pretty cool although I'm not convinced about the spacing, since it looks a bit inconsistent. It makes things a little bit hard to read. I would try increasing the spacing between the blocks and maybe the spacing between the text as well. Also keep in mind that showing various projects that all look different on the same page is difficult and you should try putting more space between them to account for the big differences in theme between them. I also think that now that you've made the jump from ColdFusion to PHP you might as well try and make the jump from PHP do something even better.
Been working on a clients site for a few months now, it's launching this Saturday. Went through a number of design iterations before arriving at our current design. [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9370573/PWS4redR.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9370573/productPageR.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9370573/PWS5r.jpg[/img_thumb] and also been working on http://cargotime.co.uk which'll be launching in a month or so. Got a ridiculously pimp spec'd dedicated box in Amsterdam with SoftLayer, which is kinda going to waste atm (using less than 1% of it to run about 23 sites), so hit me up if you need anything and we can figure something out (I'll be sure to make it cheap).
What do you guys think?
Looks like you're trying to mix metro with carbon-fiber/futuristic (the skewed rhombus for navigation). Consistency is the problem that stands out with your layout. I'm no layout expert, just talking from a user perspective.

This is in DIRE need of spacing. Everything's kinda squashed together so it's kinda hard to look at.
I need a simple PHP script that will gather information from a PayPal form and make sure it has all of the required information before submitting, otherwise it throws an error saying the required information is missing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
After 15 minutes of programming with a Mac keyboard my hands hurt and I just want it to end.
I love my Mac keyboard! I left my G15 and my old Model M for it!
Opencart right? I loved using that
Na, using in-house PHP modular back-end for it. Here's some screens from the control panel on an e-commerce implementation.
After 15 minutes of programming with a Mac keyboard my hands hurt and I just want it to end.
i've probably written over a hundred thousand lines of code on this keyboard and I love it
I myself use a Steelseries mechanical keyboard. I agree with Kirth, having tried a Mac keyboard and a mouse I wanted to kill myself every fucking time I did it.
I switch between a G15 and my Macbook Air.
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/36/Apple_magic_mouse.jpg[/t] This thing, jesus christ, its the most uncomfortable thing ever. Apple may be good at industrial design but they blow when it comes to ergonomics.
I'm using that mouse right now and my hand is very relaxed. In fact, it's easier on my finger because I can scroll by moving my finger anywhere on the mouse rather than a set position with a scroll wheel which causes repetitive strain.
i have a dell mouse + mouse rug: cop that
Love it :v:
