Oh no you don't, It makes going to class awfull.
Why? If you already know what you're doing you can use your knowledge to amaze/astonish/annoy them.
I've never taken a webdev class, I'm afraid that if I would my brain would forever be spoiled with terrible methods and boring lectures. [editline]18th September 2012[/editline]
Why? If you already know what you're doing you can use your knowledge to amaze/astonish/annoy them.
Because you are pretty much wasting your time
My homepage, now finished. Link.
Why? If you already know what you're doing you can use your knowledge to amaze/astonish/annoy them.
At first, it's fun. Eventually, it becomes annoying. In the end it's really tasking and takes a toll on your patience because you know what you're being forced to do is wrong. And trust me, you're not gonna amaze them/astonish them. They're teachers, not designers, not web developers. They're getting paid to teach a program that was thought up 10 years ago. They don't give a damn if you know more than them, if there are more modern ways to do the same. At the end of the month, they get their paycheck and it's done, and the next year they have a new set of students and it's the same process again. There's nothing fancy about having terrible, outdated teachers.
When I took web dev I told my teacher I already knew HTML and flash really well and she was cool with it and let me do whatever I wanted during class as long as it was somewhat web dev related. I helped teach the class a little too. It's fun if your teacher is chill and doesn't get butthurt that you know more than them.
Why? If you already know what you're doing you can use your knowledge to amaze/astonish/annoy them.
When you manage to prove you're better than them; they often go batshit insane and try to flunk you. You should have seen our Programming Skills' teacher when I turned in an exam after proposing a better sorting algorithm (his was shit). His eyes: sheer bloody murder.
Oh no you don't, It makes going to class awfull.
Howest-style; mah nggha.
wait... web dev class? what?
wait... web dev class? what?
Well I'm just doing CERT ||| in IT, which happens to include website design.
so i just bought my first vps from buyvm.net and i like this, testing out trying to get all my rails stuff running..and took me hours and a major headache but i finally got rails running how it should, and the example app running, all is well! BUT one problem i'm having is with git..i installed it, theres a directory (but for some odd reason no git directory) but there is git-core etc, and i can do git remote etc, and use git commands but when i try to do git clone, it says no git directory etc etc..so that's what i'm working on, such a ball of fun. ignore the stupidity in this image, just wanted some content, and by now i'm literally trying anything i can find on google. what i'm not understanding is this... got it working finally..now to just to fix all my rails code because i decided to commit random things that i knew weren't going to work.
out of curiosity did you get a server in NY or SJ

All the web stuff at the TAFE campus I go to is backend in PHP and basic frontend with Dreamweaver, so when I was enrolling at the start of this year it was a tossup between Programming (which was super tempting) or Networking. I'm halfway through my Networking Cert IV now. It's pretty hard at times, shitloads of terminology, CLI shit I gotta know for managed switches/routers, protocols, plus Windows server shit. It's a heap of fun, though, aside from one buttmunch teacher who takes forever to get anywhere and constantly accuses the entire class of being fucking terrible. We do more in six hours any given Thursday than we got through this entire term with his class, and a lot of it's on the exact same stuff. In retrospect, I'm glad I haven't been turning up, though it has put my attendance low enough that if I miss an exam I can't resit it. Wollongong West over in NSW FYI
ftfy
I think he meant Australiens :v: [editline]19th September 2012[/editline] Is there a "max" size when MySQL tables usually get really slow, or doesn't it matter?
Started learning html and a bit of css a week ago and managed to make this, It's only a tumblr theme but at least its something useful haha http://sartek.tumblr.com/ Some things need a bit of work like the About Me box and the text in the posts. Yeah wingless I am probably doing something dumb or the fact I have Tumblr is dumb or one of my posts is dumb but just rating me dumb isn't letting me know what is dumb about it, Next time maybe tell me what is dumb?
