all of your designs are really dark and i hate it
Not all designs have to be bright. You can better contrast with a dark design.
what is that font..?
PT Sans

I have done as many white designs, they just did not get far because the project they were attached to did not get far. Amuzor had a bright design at first, then I had to start from scratch half-way because I had gone the wrong way in terms of structure and I took the chance go dark.
So, I'm working on re-working my website. I'm going from this:http://nehkz.me to http://nehkz.me/img/i/f5183727f5891292207ea548f1e0f488.png (Obviously just a photoshop mockup for now) What do you think?
I don't like the placement on the sitemap, but otherwise yes. It looks great.
add a light/dark theme toggle :v:
Maintaining that would be a bitch.
I've been working on and off on a small and simple portfolio that I can upload (non-web)programming work to and link in my CV. I've had a webhost for quite a while now without any actual content on it, I mainly used it to quickly upload stuff to share with my friends and the email. But now I'm starting to get done with a design that I'm pretty content with, I would appreciate some criticism (since I'm by far no webdesigner, nor intend to become or work as) before I start with the back-end part. http://www.fearswe.net/ I'm going to allow the user to "permanently" (client side) decide between the light and dark theme. But the light theme will most likely be default.

Not the worst site for a start, just keep on practicing.

Colours you haven't ever seen before.

This is not acceptable. I'm truly disappointed in both of you. The blue circle is a whole 1px out vertically :(
Working on a timeline/developer tools so I can better optimize and make it run as fast and smoothly as possible. It's not as polished as I'd like it to be.
Looks beautiful; how are you passing the timeline info to the browser from the server (html, js)?
Looks beautiful; how are you passing the timeline info to the browser from the server (html, js)?
Originally it was requested after page load via JSON but that proved flawed after I actually thought it through and realized it wouldn't scale among multiple servers so now it's just added in as HTML. That method though is also flawed as the main layout file where the timeline is included isn't added to the timeline, I'm probably going to try and aim for a hybrid between the two.
when can other people use this ffs I would pay real cash money.
If there was an easy way to make it platform-agnostic I'd open-source it.
Yeah, I'd totally integrate it into generic forums as a development feature but i forgot you're using nodejs not ruby/rails oops
http://www.niggaupload.com/images/ZXu4e.png
Noticed this while my internet took forever to load the page
I re-did my site today. It isn't quite the same as the first design, but what do you think? http://nehkz.me
OK guys, why does IE8 fuck up margins, padding and sizes and how do I fix it. The site I am working on for school has divs that are in the right place and positioned nicely on chrome, firefox and opera, yet IE8 continues to fuck everything up in ways unimaginable. It doesn't help that the exam board that are marking our work don't even tell us what browser they're using which means it's probably internet explorer 8 which is complete BULLSHIT for an IT qualification.

The first one is how every browser should do things. Look at that fucking long piece of bullshit on the second line that seems to be the only way to stop opacity taking effect on child elements in IE. Apparently there are better ways of doing it, but nothing works on our school computers. [editline]a[/editline] The fact that I won't get any extra marks or grades for supporting multiple browsers, or for coding it by hand, or for wading through Microsoft's endless bullshit and the fact that I could make the site in FrontPage 2003 and use the worst colours, the biggest and most useless GIFs and looping music on every page and still manage to get an A is the most piss taking part. I'm pretty much doing all of this just so I can stand looking at my own site without OCD kicking in or my eyes burning from too many 1990's GIFs.

Are the margins on floated divs doubling?
How is knowing how to support legacy software that is still in use bullshit for an IT qualification. Are the margins on floated divs doubling?
It's bullshit that they judge you based on what you should have been good at doing 10 years ago.
How is knowing how to support legacy software that is still in use bullshit for an IT qualification. And about the margins, I think so, it seems to add up like that. Is there a fix? [editline]28th September 2012[/editline]
You should have seen my GCSE IT web dev project. Hopefully it will be about computers and not about Microsoft Office applications.
It's bullshit that they judge you based on what you should have been good at doing 10 years ago.
They should be preparing you for real world work though too, and supporting older browsers is an undeniable part of that.

It's better than IT which when I've seen the lessons seems completely bullshit.
