Looking sweet. Can't help thinking that those social icons would look far nicer if they didn't have a shadow and (maybe) were just silhouettes.

Also I made the Twitter one a very slightly different colour for the hover-over.
Icons: icomoon - fairly overused but they're social icons so they're all the same.

How much should I offer a designer for a logo? Free to make w/e as long as it works with any color and size. Need one for tile8.com.

Anything between $50-500.
You can get a very nice logo done for around $200 if you just find the right person. This may sound obvious, but try to think of a few already present logos that you like the look of and then track down the the words that specifically describe that kind of logo.
For example, I'd say yours is simplistic (obviously), metro, square, geometric, modern... blah...
Then you get on Google, Dribble (or even DeviantArt) and simply type some of these words in (suffixed with the word 'logo'). You'll be really surprised at the shear number of authors who make very nice, specifically themed logos. Send some e-mails out and see what you get back.
I do mean that you'll be getting a very high (probably unnecissaraly high) standard of logo for $200, but I expect you can do with a nice placeholder for now so you may want to just shop around heavily for a company that does dozens a day.
From my fairly extensive experience with logo design, I've found that just finding the 'right person' does a lot more than throwing money in the right direction. Hell, sometimes I've spent weeks pondering a logo design and come up with something average whilst other times I've managed to come up with a really original concept for a big job in a couple of hours.
In short, I always see a couple of options with logo design: You spend months looking for the right person or you write a good specification and get one done through a website. The former might just get you a logo you'll love even next year and the latter will get you a probably worse quality logo, but it may be a lot cheaper and it'll be much quicker.
I've waffled on a bit here; add me on Steam maybe I can explain a little better and I'll help find you someone good no matter the price range.

Thanks, I just wanted to know an average price. I have someone who wants to do it for free, but I want to pay something. She is a student and needs to make some logos for an assignment anyway.

I'll probably give 50 or more. Depending on how much I like it.

Yup, after the Elephant issue I was put in place as CEO
I'm using both Chrome Stable and Chrome Canary at the same time to develop, using Canary to view the stuff I'm working on and Chrome to keep documentation and other stuff open. It makes stuff much easier for me than going between tabs or windows of the same application.

Why not just open in new window instead of tab?
And rulers are in normal chrome as well.

OS X doesn't let you easily switch between windows of the same application. That's one of the things I don't like about it. I have configured alt-tab to allow you to do that but it's still a pain in the ass, so I just cmd-tab between applications.
EDIT: ohh, it actually does have it, I can't read.
EDIT 2: I still kind of prefer to cmd-tab to canary though.

How?
How?
They are just there... I dunno. Maybe because I have win8 version?
How?
I use the dev track, and they're at least in that version:

Canary is version 25, basically right out of the oven.
I use Chromium rather than the google builds, but looks like getchromium.org got shut down and I haven't updated it since 23. Gonna have to just learn to build it myself, I guess! :v:

I thought this was pretty well known, its the main reason I don't use Chrome, as 'good' of a company Google is, they love to harvest personal data, its just like the whole WiFi thing on the streetview cars. Hell if you leave your google account logged in on any browser prepare for, at the very least, for it to save every single search you carry out.

That solves some of the privacy issues people have with Chrome. To each their own, though.

I thought it was as well, but obviously not because almost all of the web devs are using it. I thought I'd put this up here to make sure they know what they're using.

They know, they probably don't care. I don't really see the problem here either, they provide us with some excellent services and we in turn provide them with every little detail about our personal life so we don't have to pay for the products we use.

i have changed your life
"Client: Why are you taking so long?"
"Me: I'm coding & designing a whole website, you are aware right?"
"Client: So It's been two days"
"Me: You've asked me to integrate the entire website with the forums and custom server statistics for valve and minecraft servers."
"Client: Ye, should be done by now."
On the verge of punching him in the face.

Where you trying to say:
"On the verge of punching him in the face."
or
"Oh the urge of punching him in the face."?
Either way, you sound correct.
So I began work on my own portfolio because I now have some free time. Slapped together a half-decent-ish concept to work from.
Excuse the stupid browser-window templatey thing. The whole look doesn't work without it as it's a side-scroller.

The idea is to just side scroll through my portfolio. When you hover over a tile it simply displays a link to the work I've been doing. Small hexagons for logos; big ones are for websites and the-like.
I'll probably end up scrapping the whole thing as horizontal scrolling is annoying and is ultra hard to get decent looking on mobiles. That and it's pretty unoriginal now. Ah well :'(

Clients like that are farking annoying.

At least you have clients.
