Registration and login is working. Image sizes have been updated to allow more of them. You can register and upload/download tiles now. A few things that need implementing/fixing right now. -search -rating -reporting -replace (semi) dummy text with proper text. A few things that will be implemented later on. -collections of tiles -editing/deleting uploaded tiles -more advanced user profile I'd appreciate it if you guys would upload your creations. And if activation mail gets in your spam it would be nice of you to unmark it. http://www.tile8.com
Well, I was going to upload some tiles, but I'm not really sure where they went. I'm currently working on "the next big thing". I have a team of professional designers and programmers, (Another guy and myself) and 10,000 dollars worth of funding. Let's go.
If some company gets butthurt I will personally remove all tiles with their logo and put a huge banner on the homepage apologizing to users that they can't upload or download tiles that contain x. And if they want tiles for x program anyway they should just google them.
This is what any reasonable company would do but if you end up infringing on the rights of some copyright troll, they can sue you immediately if you do not have a registered DMCA agent.
This is what any reasonable company would do but if you end up infringing on the rights of some copyright troll, they can sue you immediately if you do not have a registered DMCA agent.
Yea you're right. Better exclude all apple logos instantly. But seriously... I'm not afraid if getting sued. There is no way a company would win a lawsuit without first sending a take-down request. And I just looked up the law here in the Netherlands and I can't get sued apparently. User-generated content isn't allowed if it has commercial purposes in mind (i.e. uploading the apple logo and asking money for it) but it can be spread on commercial mediums (Showing the apple logo on tv, website, etc). But that only applies if the copyrighted item has been changed in some way (and pretty much all of the uploaded tiles are different from the original).
"the next best thing", can't you read?
foodstragram? Create an iphone an andriod application of which you take photos of every meal you consume then continue to make it look like it was taken in the 80's, or as if you were pointing your camera in the general direction of the sun. Bet facebook would buy it for a billion dollars.
Go where? on a more serious note, anything you can tell us about what you're working on?
Its a site I've been working on for the past few months, and I started bringing other people on board including a few people willing to put down money. I really want to start releasing some pictures for feedback, but we decided keeping the whole thing on the down low until closer to launch. The few investors we did talk to really digged the design and idea, so that's good I suppose. We are coming close to finishing up the site as a whole and we expect to launch sometime January. The concept is nothing new, we just hope to provide a better/more modern alternative to the current website that provides this service.

[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11275736/s/d/f/o/designs/groups.png[/t] I'm really not sure about the options/settings I should put on this page. For the second column, I was thinking like "threads" and "users", where "threads" would show (and allow modification of) permissions on the threads of the forums (there shouldn't be that many elements, since the ghost threads are normally the ones that are shown, which are only like 1-2 threads per board), and "users" showing who belongs to that group. What do you guys think?

Really bad overdone thing I've made for a friend's youtube channel, not sure if relevant. View Edit: HOW DARE YOU RATE ME FUNNY.
Which one? One: http://b.elup.me/bmrp-sts.jpg http://b.elup.me/CgxL-CNH.jpg Two: http://b.elup.me/NIMX-CuD.jpg http://b.elup.me/SBwq-HmB.jpg
First one compared to the second one IMO.
I'm quite partial to #1.
I'm more of a fan of the darker one honestly - makes the logo stand out a bit more: https://www.elpishost.com/newest/
The dark makes it feel really depressing.

Looks nice :)
do you have a business plan
Yes. Going to keep it free until we think we can monetize.
Yes. Going to keep it free until we think we can monetize.
that is not a business plan
that is not a business plan
I'm not aware of specifically what a business plan is then. I'm not the one in charge of business.
$10,000 is not a lot of money to be taking as investment. Why wouldn't you fund this venture out of your own pocket? (unless you think it's going to fail ;)
https://www.elpishost.com/newest/csgo.html
I'm not a big fan of no spaces on that page. Also I checked the site. [del]Green on green is not a good combo, you fixed it on the title.[/del] But then you should probaly have a grayish color below it to make it feel a bit difference. Menu items are still too close. EDIT: I see you fixed the background & title.
Check out this cool website I made in 2005 http://sebastian566557.webs.com/ [editline]a[/editline] [img]http://www.freewebs.com/sebastian566557/ASS%20OF%20HEARTS.gif[/img]

Not as blatantly as selling subscriptions or individual tiles, but you could still quite easily find yourself accused of profiting from copyrighted logos and the such (at least indirectly).
