i was taught V = IR
Doesn't really matter since U is in volts anyways.

It's pretty much what I thought, it's because V = 6V is weird, but the English had already established it, Germans said nu uhu and began using U = 6V.
i was taught V = IR
It depends on your country. I checked Wikipedia and noticed that for my country (the Netherlands) it is U but for England/America it's V etc etc.
Strange since we just say volt. There is no "Dutch" name for it.

I thought you guys might like this. I was going to a site to download some software my boss wanted me to use and the first thing I noticed was that if you hover over one of those labes some unreadable text appears over the banner. Who in the right mind would do that!?
personally i think the logo would look a lot more professional and simple if it were just the black outline of the car and the text minus the outer glow on the text..
As I mentioned in the post before, the logo is not made by me and they have used it on all other marketing things as well, so I just have to try to fit it onto the website. But yea I totally agree with you
why 'U' instead of 'V'
Because that's what Ohm's law says. I know that it doesn't really make sense, but it's how we're taught it, and it's what everybody uses.
Also, I'm getting rid of the sliders, since they turned out too difficult to use (and they behave weird now)

It does make sense, to me anyways. Near every other quantity and it's unit don't share the same symbol, except for voltage.

PNGs have fairly awesome lossless compression when you palette them properly...

Damn ye.
Guys, any idea how to do the localization in php ?
I tried gettext thing but it's not working in php version 5.3.x. I can start from scratch but that will take long time.
I've been getting really stoned for the past 2 weeks, and almost forgot to submit my midterm project for my stupid web development class...

You're required to:
Create your own bicycle website. Before you start the project, ensure you read the comments posted by your classmates in last week's Discussion Board. Note the suggested changes, modifications and improvements - expecially your own. You should put all comments to good use so that your own Bicycle website is a significant improvement on the two websites in terms of content, design, layout and navigation. (Note: It may interest you to know that the websites were created/designed by 2 students from a previous HTML class)
Use a suitable name of your choice for the website. Feel free to use similar information/content in the Boston Wheels and The Bicycle Shoppe's websites.
Include the 4 main navigation links for Home, About Us, Services and Contact Us
Use appropriate content - including contact information and popular social networking icons.
The final design, layout and content is up to you. A great imagination and creativity is required to get maximum credit points in this project.

I think any website that uses Opensans or Myriad Pro can get you an A
It's not that bad actually. That footer though.

Why did you use an image for the title? It's cleaner to use text in this case.
Ok, that stupid caching was hindering with the gettext. Restarted apache and works like a charm.
Just found out about heredoc and nowdoc. Gonna save me so much time... Wish I knew about it sooner.
^^what is that ? In layman terms.

What are you using them for so much that it would change your life without them?
What are you using them for so much that it would change your life without them?
I always mess up escaping quotes... One of the most annoying things in existence. Especially when echoing a lot of html tags with attributes.
^^what is that ? In layman terms.
Heredoc is basically a double-quoted php string where you don't have to escape quotes.
Nowdoc is basically a single-quoted php string where you don't have to escape quotes.

Use some
html {
overflow-y: scroll; /* Prevent page shifting */
}
try using this:
<h1 style="font-size: 55px;float: left;">The<span style="color: limegreen;">Bike</span>Rack</h1>

try using this:

I don't know what font you used but helvetica looks nice
Why? An image as a logo is perfectly fine.
