I vote for one made by you, don't like none.
[editline]23rd November 2012[/editline]
jung3o got my vote though.
I actually wanted to try and make one but then I didn't get enough time to work on it, so I preferred to leave it.
Anyways, lessons learned for next contest (if there's ever going to be a next one): less targeted objectives, less narrow scope, more time.
Small contests like "make a nice-looking form" had been nice :)
I would have finished mine off, but for the last few days of the competition I was busy moving house.
Doubtful it would have won anyway.
It'd be nice to see what you did anyway though.
I think the trouble is people didn't think they'd have the time to commit to it, so didn't. And ones that started but didn't feel it was complete enough for the deadline didn't submit anything.
Needs more time and possibly less to do, instead of having to design at least 2 pages - make it just 1.
I am working on javascript pong for my web development class. It's pretty crappy so far.

So badass.

Hey, I just thought I'd let those who are interested know that Amuzor is no more. I left the team because of internal conflicts and discrepancies that had carried on since the project's inception.
I'm sorry to hear that since I know you worked extremely hard on your party. I've learned from personal experience it's best to work on a project alone, there will always be conflict. What happened to Voze? that project looked promising and worthy of completion.

status update: it has a ball now.

A very similar thing happened to Voze, plus loss of interest.

Damn shame. It had a lot of potential. I could've seen myself visiting it regularly when it launched as an alternative to those naff meme-filled sites.
Good luck on your next project.

Wow, what? Wasn't Amuzor your idea? Tell your team to screw off. Projects need leaders.
Hey, I just thought I'd let those who are interested know that Amuzor is no more. I left the team because of internal conflicts and discrepancies that had carried on since the project's inception.
Didn't that happen once already?
Wow, what? Wasn't Amuzor your idea? Tell your team to screw off. Projects need leaders.
I just want to follow up on this; Gab, your work is so profoundly good, you could start a small company off of one of your own site projects if you figured out a way to market it. Your biggest problem is you have no balls. I'm telling you this as an outsider looking in.
Look at this: http://www.gabrielecirulli.com/voze.html
A very small fraction of us here is competent enough to make something like this, and you're dropping projects like flies. I can understand dropping it due to lack of motivation or lack of interest, but it sounded like Amuzor was something you legitimately wanted to make big, and considering how idiotic Internet culture is nowadays, you'd surely make a profit off of it somehow, or get bought out.
You need to straighten up. Be a project lead. Not just a project architect. I don't know who you're composing your team of, but they sound like total fools. Cull those who aren't bringing you forward and move on without them.
You're a great designer clearly, but you're being held back, make sure you're not. Identify those people and be done with them.
I disagree. A project leader should never be involved in creating the project. You need someone who is unbiased about the product and its developers. I do agree on the other parts.

I'm sure you could find a decent buyer if you wanted.
Wow, what? Wasn't Amuzor your idea? Tell your team to screw off. Projects need leaders.
No actually it was my idea. Gab doesn't want to project to continue at all without him even though he was the one who left and is withdrawing all of his work. Kind of expected but it's an incredibly shitty thing to do since not only is all of his work wasted, all of mine is too.
[editline]25th November 2012[/editline]
Also Gab I'd just like to point out that I'm going to continue Amuzor with or without you, I legally own the domain name anyway. I am not letting you shit months of work down the drain.
Whoa its Voze all over again, you people need to grow up
Whoa its Voze all over again, you people need to grow up
No it's not.
Yeah it is you guys all got pissy and left, this is the exact same thing
Yeah it is you guys all got pissy and left, this is the exact same thing
That didn't even happen with Voze, we all decided to move on and do other things. There was nobody getting pissy.
No matter what the situation is, there should be a project lead that actually does something. The aforementioned project lead definition mentioned here:
I disagree. A project leader should never be involved in creating the project. You need someone who is unbiased about the product and its developers. I do agree on the other parts.
Respectfully, is total nonsense outside of a venture capitalized project. These are young adults you're talking about. Not an invested corporate project. Small independent teams need a single person or (very very rarely) a tight nit group of phenomenal developers and designers. If someone doesn't have the same view from the start, everything's bollocks.

Reconcile.
I'm continuing work on my main project, but I need some design advice.
Here's a snapshot of the website's main page:

In my opinion, it appears a bit dull, what could I do to make it look a bit better? Should I add something to the background image?
