Does anyone know some decent rich text editors? TinyMCE doesn't have image/file capabilities without spending tons on their file manager, CK/FCK is far too expensive and NicEdit butchers HTML and doesn't have any padding/margin on images so it looks horrendous
I'm continuing work on my main project, but I need some design advice.
Here's a snapshot of the website's main page:

In my opinion, it appears a bit dull, what could I do to make it look a bit better? Should I add something to the background image?
I really like the top part. Except the font on the buttons don't seem to be fitting in, neither does the color.
I'm not sure what you want to do with the news welcome statistics tabs but they seem kind of oddly placed.
Try using your space like design below (without overdoing it though)
More rounded stuff! =P (Also, you need to figure out what you want to do with the bottom. Cause you seem a bit confused about what you really want there.)

Put gifs everywhere! It will be the 1990's all over again! :D

Done.
I like to compare seb and gab and friends to 12 year olds in counter strike clans, you quite often fall out and go into baby mode but then become friends again less than 24 hours later

It doesn't make us look that good, does it? I did it because I did not want to see Amuzor die, or stop working on it, since I've been doing it for months.

Damn, I almost didn't recognize your avatar. Guess, it's time for hats.
-snip: very well just be an error-
But seriously: always happy to see a reconciliation :)
Here is some content to make up for the drama:

Darker theme. Better?
I hate that drop shadow you seem to have on everything, it looks really amateur. Why don't you just do something less extreme like 0px 1px 0px rgb(0,0,0,.3)
Well a bit of a crosspost from QTDNTOT but
Yeah so I'm using ShareX to upload files via HTML page. Then, when visiting the URL, it'll check if the file is in the database, then log the download and send you the file (and display it if it's an image). Example:

I found some of the old shitty splash pages and logo concepts for that the other day

Which shadow are you talking about?
The shadows on the pictures

The shadow is put there by the OSX screenshot tool.
Hey guys, I'm planning on doing a web-based media cataloger. Any must-have features I should be thinking of? I'll try to keep the interface clean, make it fast everything, but I can't promise anything as I tend to drop projects pretty hard and quickly.

What is a "web-based media cataloger"?
We can't really suggest features if you don't tell us what you're planning on doing and what makes your service unique, silly.
What is a "web-based media cataloger"?
Well, basically, that would be a website where you'd say which movies you own or have only viewed, music that you own or only heard, games that you own or only played, etc... and give them a rating. The system will classify everything automagically into multiples (sub)categories. Three uses for that: know what you have, so that you won't forget it; know what you like, so that you can; know what to look for. For the last one I intend to do stats do make it clear for you what you like, and even a recommendation system, because why the hell not.

There's nothing particular about my system. It's the regular "reinventing-the-wheel" roll that I have when I have no idea what I want to develop; I just want to type code. But I feel this could be genuinely useful: the websites I've encountered are either ugly or not free (but I may have missed some well-known website what do I know).
As for the interface, I intend to go for a classic skeuomorphic library style, a-la iBook, or GOG.com.
Again: still a project, I haven't typed a single line of code yet.
Start with what you've got in your head already and get it functional and live. Don't make it perfect, just make it. I would definitely do the recommendation system though (www.goodreads.com does a good job of that whole recommendation thing)
Get something really minimal built and online and put it out there and then start iterating on that and getting your must have features lined up. It's a lot easier to experiment when you have a foundation put down, and I find I get some of my best ideas once I start laying groundwork for a project.

Please don't.
Please don't.
Please make a longer argument.

Skeuomorphism is awful and overused.
Skeuomorphism is awful and overused.
Noted, will post progress tomorrow.
Skeuomorphism is awful and overused.
I think skeuomorphism is actually good when done well and with a valid reason.
Skeuomorphism is rad when it's done well and doesn't interfere with user experience in any negative way. It's a lot harder to pull off well though, and since it is/was kind of a trendy thing there's a lot of bad examples out there.
By the way, today I went in and signed a contract with a company to work with them during school. They gave me another MacBook.
